The Nightly: May 17th, 2022

Hello Nightly!!!

Tonight, we’ll be taking a look at the December 7th, 1998 episode of WWF Raw Is War/War Zone. This was the go home Raw for Rock Bottom. Michael Cole ended up replacing Jim Ross on commentary, as JR had suffered a bout of Bell’s Palsy at WWF’s Capital Carnage UK PPV. What people probably remember this episode of Raw for is the very end of it, as we saw Undertaker, along with Paul Bearer and several non Joe Gacy affiliated druids tied Stone Cold Steve Austin to Undertaker’s symbol as Undertaker sacrificed the Texas Rattlesnake. We also got some more build for Jarrett/Goldust, as well as the New Age Outlaws feigning becoming corporate and joining the Corporation, only for it to be an entire ruse, much to the frustration of WWF Commissioner Shawn Michaels.

Overall, this was a decent episode of Raw as we headed towards Rock Bottom.

On to the Nightly.
