The Nightly: December 8th, 2022

Hello Nightly!!!

Tonight, we take a look at the January 29th, 2001 episodes of WWF Raw Is War/War Zone and WCW Monday Nitro.

On Raw, the countdown is on for No Way Out 2001 as Triple H (and his attorney Brian Gewirtz) and Stone Cold Steve Austin would sign the contract for their match at No Way Out, with a stipulation that neither man can attack each other. If they do, Austin loses his title match at Wrestlemania, and Triple H gets suspended for six months. Kaientai also get a title shot against the Dudley Boyz, and The Rock humiliates Kurt Angle by showing an embarrassing pizza commercial from shortly after he won the Olympics, with The Rock later becoming number 1 contender for Kurt Angle’s WWF title later on in the week for Xtreme SmackDown.

And on Nitro, the main event featured Kevin Nash facing Totally Buff in order to make it to SuperBrawl Revenge, as well as Dusty and Dustin Rhodes making their returns to WCW to stop a formulaic and autopilot Ric Flair promo. You know, Flair’s WCW, the new WCW, targeting people in the crowd, randomly putting over Totally Buff, all that stuff.

On to the Nightly.
