The Nightly: December 7th, 2022

Hello Nightly!!!

Tonight we take a look at the January 22nd, 2001 episode of WWF Raw Is War/War Zone, and the January 23rd, 2001 episode of WCW Monday Nitro.

On Raw, it was the fallout from Royal Rumble 2001. Triple H and Stephanie McMahon take on Angle and Trish in the main event after some convincing towards Vince by Trish. Al Snow and Raven also had a fun hardcore match where they go underneath the stage and set off the pyro. Al briefly wins the Hardcore title before a ninja helps Raven immediately win it back. Undertaker appears to save Kane from Haku and Rikishi, seemingly reuniting the Brothers of Destruction after they reunited for the first time since mid 2000 at Royal Rumble.

And on Nitro, the countdown to WCW’s penultimate PPV SuperBrawl Revenge has started, with Alex Wright being named number 1 contender, before Kevin Nash powerbombs him through the stage, revealing that the stage for WCW at this point, was made up of the same material that the AEW Blood & Guts stage was made of. We also saw Christopher Daniels make his WCW debut in a really good match with Michael Modest that gets ruined by Scott Steiner.

On to the Nightly.
