The Nightly: December 1st, 2022

Hello Nightly!!!

Tonight we take a look at the December 11th, 2000 episode of WWF Raw Is War/War Zone and the December 12th, 2000 episode of WCW Monday Nitro.

On Raw it was the fallout from Armageddon 2000. Vince McMahon is at Raw expecting a resignation from Commissioner Foley due to the events that transpired inside Hell In A Cell. To make matters worse, several people get injured during the course of Raw, including Chyna following a Val Venis piledriver, Al Snow in a hardcore match with Raven, and Edge and Christian getting put through tables in the first ever tag team testicle table match (The Rock’s words, not mine). But thanks to Stone Cold, Foley tears up the resignation letter. A very good episode of Raw with a strong story that continued what the previous Raw’s and PPV had established.

And over on Nitro, it was the go home Nitro for Starrcade 2000. Sid and Steiner fight in the parking lot to end the show, and Terry Funk beats the crap out of Crowbar, Norman Smiley, Kwee-Wee, and Meng while dressed as Santa. This episode was a bit disappointing compared to the last one. At least we got a marquee Sgt. Buddy Lee Parker match out of this Nitro.

On to the Nightly.
