Hello Nightly!!!
WWF Raw Is War/War Zone: February 23rd, 1998:
New Age Outlaws vs. Legion Of Doom:
LOD would lose and the team seem to be on the verge of breaking up.
Ken Shamrock vs. Jeff Jarrett:
A mistimed Cornette interference would cost Jarrett the match.
Truth Commission vs. Disciples Of Apocalypse:
Neverending break up of Truth Commission continues.
Barry Windham vs. Taka Michinoku:
Kane would ruin this match.
Bradshaw vs. The Artist Formerly Known As Goldust:
Goldust would dress as Dusty Rhodes in this match.
Steve Blackman vs. The Rock:
Even if Rock isn’t quite the Rock yet, and even if it is via backfired interference, it is truly bizarre to see Steve Blackman get a pinfall victory over The Rock.
Owen Hart vs. Marc Mero for the WWF European Championship:
Sable would come out and brawl with Luna.
WCW Monday Nitro: February 23rd, 1998:
Lex Luger vs. Curt Hennig:
Match would be ruined by the newest member of the NWO, post Steiner Brothers but not quite Big Poppa Pump just yet, Scott Steiner.
Diamond Dallas Page vs. Van Hammer:
Decent match.
Rick Steiner vs. Vincent:
Complete squash match.
Ultimo Dragon vs. Kaz Hayashi:
Solid cruiserweight action.
Raven vs. Chris Benoit:
Fun brawl.
Booker T vs. Renegade:
Bit of a clumsy match.
Konnan vs. Lizmark Jr.:
Decent match.
Chris Jericho vs. Lenny Lane for the WCW Cruiserweight Championship:
Jericho would come to the ring wearing Juventud Guerrera’s mask.
Perry Saturn vs. Yuji Nagata:
Decent but very basic match.
Eddie Guerrero vs. Disco Inferno:
Alright match.
Ric Flair vs. Brad Armstrong:
Decent match.
Vicious and Delicious vs. High Voltage:
Decent tag match.
Overall, while both shows were filler shows, I’d say Raw was the better show. Nitro, while not bad, has just become something of a chore to watch ever since it went three hours.
On to the Nightly.
