The Nightly: January 26th, 2022

Hello Nightly!!!

So tonight, we’ll be looking at the February 16th, 1998 episode of WCW Monday Nitro. Just gonna do a quick overall review of it rather than going match by match. Perhaps the biggest story coming out of the show is Rick Martel winning the TV title for some reason. Not sure why this happened, Booker’s reign was going so well. We also got the WCW debut of the former Crush, AKA Brian Adam’s, who had jumped to WCW in the wake of the Montreal Screwjob, and he immediately joins the NWO. We also continue the dissension of Randy Savage and the NWO, as he and Hogan team up against Sting and Lex Luger, and it predictably ends in NWO interference. Overall, it wasn’t a bad show, and it served as a decent go home show for SuperBrawl VIII. Nothing too great, but it was just okay, the product doesn’t have too much momentum compared to what WWF was doing at the time.

On to the Nightly.
