The Nightly: January 16th, 2022

Hello Nightly!!!

WCW Monday Nitro: January 19th, 1998:

Rick Martel vs. Eddie Guerrero:

Would not have expected Martel to go over Eddie.

Chris Benoit vs. Marty Jannetty:

Much more competitive than expected.

Ernest Miller vs. Jerry Flynn:

Honestly a bit of a disaster of a match.

Steiner Brothers vs. Buff Bagwell and Konnan:

We get some foreshadowing of Big Poppa Pump here, Rick didn’t even tag into this match.

Booker T vs. Mortis for the WCW World Television Championship:

Good match, though Mortis took a nasty neck bump in this match.

Chris Jericho vs. Juventud Guerrera:

Jericho would continue his heel character, refusing to release the Walls Of Jericho and claiming that the referee never made it clear enough to him that Juventud had tapped out.

Scott Hall vs. Lex Luger:

Such a boring match.

Hollywood Hogan vs. Giant:

Yet another boring match.

Overall, this was a solid go home Nitro for Souled Out 1998.

On to the Nightly.
