The Nightly: January 14th, 2022

Hello Nightly!!!

WWF Raw Is War/War Zone, January 19th, 1998:

Disciples Of Apocalypse vs. Nation Of Domination:

This match would end in a wild brawl.

Marc Mero vs. Tom Brandi:

The lower card feud that just won’t end.

The Quebecers vs. Cactus Jack and Chainsaw Charlie:

Why are the Quebecers now in WWF?!

Owen Hart, Taka Michinoku, and Headbangers vs. Los Boricuas:

Decent match.

Jeff Jarrett vs. Blackjack Bradshaw:

The New Blackjacks would explode as Blackjack Windham aligned himself with the NWA, despite being screwed out of the North American title by Jim Cornette. This angle doesn’t make any damn sense.

New Age Outlaws vs. Godwinns for the WWF World Tag Team Championships:

Outlaws would win by pulling a Positively Kanyon, as they stuffed a brick in a plush pig to win.

Of course, the show would end with the iconic and great angle with Mike Tyson and Stone Cold Steve Austin. This was a huge deal at the time, and created major buzz for Wrestlemania, where Mike Tyson would be the enforcer for Austin/Michaels. Overall, despite some storylines being dumb or played out, the good stuff here with DX and Austin/Tyson was really damn good.

On to the Nightly.
