The Nightly: January 13th, 2022

Hello Nightly!!!

WCW Monday Nitro: January 12th, 1998:

Goldberg vs. Jerry Flynn:

Basic Goldberg match.

Marty Jannetty vs. Black Cat:

Not sure why Marty is in WCW in 1998.

Chris Benoit vs. Dean Malenko:

Really good match.

Booker T vs. Saturn for the WCW World Television Championship:

Saturn almost stole the win, but Rick Martel prevented it from happening.

Lex Luger vs. Hugh Morrus:

Boring match.

Steve McMichael vs. Chris Jericho:

Continuing Jericho’s heel turn, during the commercial break after this match, he snaps at the fans before realizing he’s on the air, and plays the face again. Which leads into…

Juventud Guerrera vs. Rey Mysterio Jr. for the WCW Cruiserweight Championship:

Mysterio would be blindsided by Jericho, and Juventud took advantage.

Outsiders vs. Steiner Brothers for the WCW World Tag Team Championships:

Hall and Nash would get the victory over the EinSteiners after an elbow by Savage lanes on one of the Steiners instead of Nash. And he and Nash have to team on Thunder later this week!

Overall, this was a pretty solid episode of Nitro, probably one of the better Nitros as of late.

On to the Nightly.
