The Nightly: January 10th, 2022

Hello Nightly!!!

WWF Raw Is War/War Zone: January 5th, 1998:

Ken Shamrock vs. Faarooq:

Decent match, Nation failed to cheat for Faarooq.

Jeff Jarrett vs. Barry Windham for the NWA North American Heavyweight Championship:

This was the beginning of the NWA invasion angle, and the crowd really did not care about this angle at all. Jim Cornette introduces both competitors but cheats for Jarrett, because?

Disciples Of Apocalypse vs. Truth Commission:

Alright match.

Owen Hart vs. Savio Vega:

Decent match.

New Age Outlaws vs. Headbangers:

Solid match.

The Artist Formerly Known As Goldust vs. Flash Funk:

Goldust’s outfit here is um… not good.

Marc Mero vs. Tom Brandi:

Stone Cold would come and stun Mero as the finish.

Overall, this Raw was a bit hit and miss. There was some awful stuff on here like the NWA invasion, lackluster matches, and Goldust’s offensive attire. But Raw did have some good things, like the ending angle with Shawn, Taker, and the casket, as well as the overarching storyline of Austin doing onto others before they do onto him just a couple of weeks before the Royal Rumble.

On to the Nightly.
