Even though MLW is in a slow cycle until their next explosion of action, a couple of juicy tidbits have emerged to make fans salivate. Let’s check in on the wrestling promotion that never sleeps.
The Von Erich brothers want Tom Lawlor, and they want him inside the War Chamber cage.
Papa Kevin suggested Ross and Marshall handle that business in Dallas on September 11. War Chamber is MLW’s version of War Games. The dangerous match is a fitting way to blow off the lengthy feud between the Von Erichs and Team Filthy. It was at War Chamber in 2019 when seeds were planted for Lawlor’s discontent with the Von Erich crew.
MLW’s next venture to satiate their fans is Fusion: ALPHA.
Fusion: ALPHA is a bit of a mystery. MLW provided some details on the upcoming project:
A prelude to the fall season, Fusion: ALPHA will feature exclusive marquee championship fights, first-time ever encounters, shadowy agendas, and new arrivals. Fusion: ALPHA will serve as a bridge to the new season.
Fusion: ALPHA will be a four-part mini-series starting in late August. The show will be available through their YouTube channel. Even with that blurb, I’m not sure what to expect. It could be as simple as airing matches from the Battle Riot taping last month.
Alexander Hammerstone has a world title match in his pocket after winning Battle Riot III. He will finally be able to call his shot and get his hands on Jacob Fatu. The question is when Hammerman will flex his muscle in that direction to cash-in. MLW.com reported:
Sources close to the Phoenix powerhouse’s camp have indicated an announcement is imminent, so MLW.com went to the man himself. When reached for comment, Hammer simply texted MLW.com: “Your Boy Hammer has a plan,” stated the National Openweight Champion and Battle Riot III winner.
Contra Unit leader Josef Samael is not concerned about Hammerstone’s newly earned power.

Cesar Duran (alias Dario Cueto) is relishing his new matchmaker status within MLW, but he might also have more up his sleeve for the Azteca Underground brand. There have been rumors of MLW branching Azteca Underground off into its own show, and now MLW is teasing an Azteca project. Unfortunately, no details were given. That hasn’t stopped Duran from leaning into the speculation.
So many rumors. I wonder which one is true about my @AZTECALucha and @MLW?

In live show news, the November 6 event in Chicago has been changed to take place in Philadelphia instead. Tickets for the new Philly show will be available for purchase starting October 2.
We’ll close with some slick new threads at the MLW shop. Represent Hammerstone as the Golden Gaijin.
