AEW Dynamite preview (June 11, 2021): Miro is Money

New, 4 comments

All Elite Wrestling comes our way from Jacksonville, Florida. Last week, The Young Bucks cheated to beat Death Triangle, but their post-match beatdown was interrupted by Eddie Kingston. Mark Henry teased Rampage but was interrupted by Vicki Guerrero introducing her new client(?) Andrade El Idolo. Cody Rhodes was pinned by QT Marshall (with some help from Anthony Ogogo). The Inner Circle are still feuding with The Pinnacle despite beating them at Double or Nothing. Kenny Omega did some whining. Christian Cage and Jungle Boy defeated Private Party, and all Christian got for his troubles was a twist of fate from Matt Hardy. Scorpio Sky and Ethan Page dared Darby Allin to stop riding Sting’s coattails and find a new tag team partner. Nyla Rose threw cheeseburgers at the women’s champion. Red Velvet got a little revenge on The Bunny. Miro thanked God, his hot wife, and accepted Evil Uno’s challenge. And Dustin Rhodes hogtied a man to win a wrestling match.

This Week’s Headliner:

TNT Champion Miro is out in these streets cutting wild promos, macking on his wife, and overall living his best championship life.

The best thing about Miro as champion is he is still 100% a heel, but he’s the type of heel that talks sh*t not because he wants to play mind games or avoid wrestling, but because he wants to make everyone so mad and jealous that their only choice is to fight him. He wants to bathe in the blood of his enemies, and I really like that about him.

Tonight he defends the TNT title against Dark Order’s Evil Uno. It should be a fun match because we hardly get to see Evil Uno wrestle in singles action. His chaotic energy clashing with Miro’s relentlessness should make for good TV. Sure, he’s going to lose and lose badly, but it should be fun while it lasts!

The Title Scene:

Eddie Kingston is that bully on the playground that will tease you relentlessly, but the moment someone else tries to hurt you, he has your back. It’s confusing, but at least it’s consistent. Tonight he takes that energy into the ring when he teams with his former best friend Penta El Zero M and PAC to take on the AEW Tag Team Champions, The Young Bucks, and their friend(?) Brandon Cutler in trios action.

Everyone has it out for The AEW World Champion Kenny Omega! Tonight we learn more from Don Callis about the conspiracy to take down the champ!

Last week former AEW Women’s Champion Nyla Rose interrupted current champion Britt Baker’s celebration. Tonight Nyla takes on Leyla Hirsch one-on-one, and I suspect either cuts a promo formally declaring her path of destruction ending with Britt Baker or Britt Baker returns the favor and ruins Nyla’s match. Either way, we are on the road to Britt vs. Nyla for the championship, and I’m not mad about it!

Other Things to Keep an Eye On:

-A Cody Rhodes special announcement! Hopefully, Jeff, the AEW social media guy, is paying attention lest Cody dunk on him publically again.

-Scorpio Sky & Ethan Page have challenged Darby Allin to ditch Sting and take them on with a new tag team partner. Which is a clever way to move Sting into more of a manager role. Tonight we learn who that new partner is.

-Hangman Page will wrestle alongside Dark Order’s 10 to take on consistent pain in their butts, Brian Cage & Powerhouse Hobbs. Just join the cult cuddle puddle already Hangman!

-In their saga of never-ending tit-for-tat responses, The Pinnacle reacts to Inner Circle’s claims that they are not done with each other yet.

-Lance Archer wins the little ones but loses the big ones. Tonight he’s “in action” attempting to rebuild his scary street cred.

-Christian Cage goes one-on-one with Angelico because, well frankly, because that sounds awesome.

Tune into AEW on TNT at 10 p.m. EST to see how this all plays out!
