AETV.com

Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Important reminder: Rumors are just that — rumors. None of this has been confirmed as fact, it’s just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. We track rumor accuracy in a weekly feature called Rumor Look Back you can find here. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.

Rumors for the Day:

  • That A&E’s Biography on Randy Savage delved into his addiction and relationship issues while the Steve Austin & Roddy Piper episodes were largely puff pieces drew criticism from Conrad Thompson, David Bixenspan and others.
  • Post Wrestling’s John Pollock agreed the Savage episode “had a distinctly different feel and tone,” but he pointed out “each documentary has its own outside producers with cooperation from the WWE throughout all the features.”
  • Fightful Select confirmed the MLW/WWE talks that were reported on last week, and added that many in NXT were “in the dark” about the situation. Discussions are happening at a high level within WWE.
  • Tessa Blanchard and Daga have been negotiating with AEW for a month now, according to SEScoops. A source told the site their signing is “all but a formality”.
  • Per that report, AEW officials have discussed acknowledging Blanchard’s prior “issues” as part of a redemption storyline.

If you have heard of any interesting rumors that you’d like to add, feel free to post them in the comments section below. Just remember they are rumors and not confirmed as fact, so please take them as such. And check our weekly Rumor Look Back here to keep track of how often rumors turn out to be correct.
