On Friday night (May 21), CMLL held their first show with fans in 434 days since the COVID pandemic changed the world. 500 spectators were able to attend Arena Mexico in Mexico City.
Mistico, Caristico, & Euforia competed in the main event against Ultimo Guerrero, Gran Guerrero, & Volador Jr. The takeaway was the continued feud between Euforia and Ultimo Guerrero. In the deciding third fall, Ultimo Guerrero sacrificed the win to send a selfish message by yanking off Euforia’s mask. That resulted in a disqualification loss for Ultimo Guerrero’s squad.
In a backstage promo, Ultimo Guerrero explained that this feud is just heating up, and he is coming for Euforia’s mask. For Euforia, he wants a shot at Ultimo Guerrero’s CMLL World Heavyweight Championship. This story seems to be heading toward an eventual mask versus hair contest.
In other action, Terrible, Barbaro Cavernario, & Atlantis defeated Sanson, Cuatrero, & Negro Casas. The deciding fall saw Terrible submit Sanson with a creative hold. Sanson was on all fours with Terrible using his leg to hammerlock Sanson’s arm and using his hands to crank Sanson’s neck.
Hechicero, Gemelo Diablo I, & Gemelo Diablo II defeated Titan, Rey Cometa, & Espiritu Negro. KeMonito got in on the action with a flying splash for the tecnicos.

Los Diablos used teamwork slams to pin Rey Cometa and Espiritu Negro in the third fall. This highlight clip has some cool moves. How can you not be excited by Hechicero’s swinging bear hug backbreaker.
In women’s action, Lluvia & La Jarochita defeated Princesa Sugehit & Reyna Isis in a championship fiesta. Lluvia and Jarochita hold the Mexican National Women’s Tag Team Championship, while Sugehit has the CMLL World Women’s Championship in her possession and Reyna Isis owns the Mexican National Women’s Championship. The tag champs prevailed with a double pin off dual running dropkicks.
The opener saw Hijo del Villano III & Templario defeat Stuka Jr. & Flyer. Templario secured the victory with a super powerbomb to Stuka. This highlights clip is the most action-packed with leaps aplenty, a three-luchador electric chair slam, and other flashy moves.
CMLL’s next PPV will be Copa Dinastias 2021 on May 28. The show can be streamed live through Ticketmaster Live.
