This week, we’re voting on nationally televised and internet streaming pro wrestling shows that took place May 16 - 22: WWE’s WrestleMania Backlash PPV, Raw, Dark: Elevation, Dark, NXT, Dynamite, Fusion, NXT UK, Impact, SmackDown, ROH TV, 205 Live, NJPW Strong, and anything else I’m forgetting.
But first, here’s the outcome of last week’s voting, and how those results changed our competition for Performer of the Year.
- Top two spots went to people we were excited to see win gold. We also recognized the former TNT titleholder, and the other half of the new WWE Women’s Tag champs.
- Thanks in part to those ladies, the top ten was an even more blue brand heavy than normal. The Universal championship took up three spots, and we popped big time for a stolen crown.
- The new king’s countryman earned a lot of votes with a thrilling NXT Cruiserweight title defense.
- And we’re looking forward to seeing Impact’s honor defended. Kenny Omega’s latest challenger picked up a point.
