Earlier this month, Andrade made his AAA debut. The former WWE NXT & United States titleholder called out Mega champion Kenny Omega in the process.
The Belt Collector (if you didn’t, Omega is also the AEW & Impact World champ) responded with a cheeky, “let me check my schedule”.
Well, either he checked it, or AAA officials decided it was past time Kenny made his fifth title defense since winning the strap in October of 2019, and his first since last December. because at a press conference today (May 18), Andrade vs. Omega was made official.
Omega and his wingman Don Callis even sent in a promo to start selling the Sun., Aug. 14 show.

Andrade is supposed to have his first post-WWE match on July 31. Omega has two PPV defenses of his other titles coming up - in a Triple Threat against PAC & Orange Cassidy with his AEW strap on the line at Double Or Nothing on May 30, and with Moose for the Impact championship June 12 at Against All Odds.
Omega/Andrade isn’t the only inter-promotional match on the card for Aug. 14 either. Impact Knockouts champ Deonna Purrazzo will battle Reina de Reinas titleholder Faby Apache at Triplemanía XXIX, too. The main event of the show at Mexico City Arena will be Psycho Clown and Rey Escorpion in a mask vs. hair lucha de apuestas.
Now all we need to know is how to watch it here in the States!
We’ll keep you posted.
