Darby Allin calls Miro ‘the most underwhelming thing I’ve seen’

The Twitter war between the TNT champ and his next challenger heats up.

Miro (the wrestler formerly known as Rusev) has been doing really strong work on Dynamite of late. It’s necessary work, too - the Bulgarian Brute has to put his debut as Kip Sabian’s video game-playing sidekick in the rearview. And he doesn’t have any time to waste, as he’s got his first AEW title match coming up on Dynamite this Weds., May 12 against TNT champion Darby Allin.

Over the weekend, Miro went after Darby on Twitter. He recycled a great line about Sting from the last few weeks to do it. Now the champ has fired back, and he’s focused on the months preceding Miro’s recent reinvention.

For a rivalry we didn’t even know was happening until recently, this is already shaping up to be a very good one. If they spin it out into a longer program (and the injuries AEW says Allin suffered when Ethan Page & Scorpio Sky threw him down the steps last Wednesday give them a few interesting ways to do that), it feels like it could be a marquee feud for All Elite for years to come.

Hopefully it won’t feel underwhelming after Wednesday. But based on the work Darby Allin and Miro are already doing, I don’t think that’s a word we’ll be using to describe the TNT title scene.
