New Japan faithful and old WCW heads were marking out last Wednesday when AEW announced Yuji Nagata would challenge Jon Moxley for the IWGP United States title on the May 12 Dynamite.
Outside of its dream match status and a couple fiery internet promos, there wasn’t much to the feud. New Japan’s looking to rectify that next Friday on NJPW Strong.

Mox will team with Chris Dickinson. On Strong, Dickinson is set-up as the first challenger to his Team Filthy mate Tom Lawlor’s Openweight title. “Dirty Daddy” could be a potential challenger for the U.S. belt down the line too, which adds another level of intrigue to this May 7 tag. Dickinson is also working with Brody King, Homicide & Tony Deppen in Ring of Honor.
Nagata’s partner Ren Narita is a Young Lion on excursion to the States.
