Rumor Roundup (April 10, 2021): WrestleMania 37 plans, McIntyre, Nigerian Drum Fight, more!

Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Important reminder: Rumors are just that — rumors. None of this has been confirmed as fact, it’s just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. We track rumor accuracy in a weekly feature called Rumor Look Back you can find here. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.

Rumors for the Day:

  • Fightful Select says Goldberg was originally in the plans for WrestleMania 37, possibly for a match against Drew McIntyre, but that changed by February.
  • The expectation is Drew McIntyre will win and the big crowd reaction, says the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, and that’s why his match against Bobby Lashley was moved to the first match on night one of WrestleMania 37.
  • Ringside News says that even members of the WWE creative team haven’t been told what the Nigerian Drum Fight stipulation entails for the Big E vs. Apollo Crews match at WrestleMania 37.
  • Adam Pearce told Billboard that Bad Bunny started training after the holidays and he’s been training with Pearce and Drew Gulak.
  • The Observer says Dax Harwood has been dealing with an elbow injury for roughly six weeks now.
