NWA has returned. They had a big week with their Back for the Attack PPV and the re-emergence of the Powerrr broadcast. Let’s get caught up on the results and news. Nick Aldis handled his business, Thunder Rosa took a surprising defeat, and there were some neat surprise appearances.
NWA Back for the Attack PPV (Mar. 21, 2021) results:
- NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship: Nick Aldis defeated Aron Stevens to retain the Ten Pounds of Gold. Aldis was in trouble on a crossface submission in the center of the ring, but he was able to reach the ropes. Stevens went back for more, however, Aldis rolled him into an inside cradle for the three count.
- NWA National Heavyweight Championship: Trevor Murdoch defeated Chris Adonis to retain the title. Murdoch dropped low to escape a Master Lock and counter with a roll-up to win. After the match, Adonis attacked with the Master Lock.
- #1 Contender: Kamille defeated Thunder Rosa. It took two spears to put down Thunder Rosa.
- NWA World Television Championship: Pope retained in a draw against Thom Latimer after the 10:05 time limit expired.
- Tyrus defeated Kratos in a hoss fight. A running sandwich in the corner then a standing elbow drop secured victory.
- Slice Boogie defeated Jax Dane, Jordan Clearwater, and Crimson in a four-way fight. Mr. Boogie pinned Clearwater on a piledriver.
The PPV featured good quality matches that fit perfectly for the studio wrestling vibe of Powerrr. Stevens rose to the occasion to honor the memory of Joseph Hudson (aka Jocephus and ¿The Question Mark?). He went 20 minutes against the Worlds Champ and did well as a serious wrestler with no comedy. Stevens often had the advantage with Aldis fighting from behind for the majority of the bout. Aldis pulling out an opportune roll-up shows why is he the best.
The big shocker was Thunder Rosa going down in defeat to Kamille. This was a lengthy bout with Kamille putting in work. The story was powerhouse versus gritty heart. Kamille controlled the pace early, then Rosa turned the tide by making it ugly on the floor. Rosa targeted Kamille’s back with a bow and arrow submission around the ring post. The match continued back and forth. Rosa had victory in her sights, but Kamille rolled away from a flying double stomp. Kamille pounced with a spear then took her time to set up a second spear to ensure the win.
Kamille is for real. Experience was always a concern with her, but she stuck to the game plan of working to her strengths to put on an entertaining contest. The story of the match was executed well. It’s always nice to have a dance partner with fire, and Thunder Rosa brought the intensity that you would expect. She lost clean to put over Kamille, however, it took a lot to keep Rosa down. With that win, Kamille became the #1 contender to challenge Serena Deeb for the NWA World Women’s Championship.

In the surprise appearance category, Taryn Terrell sat in on commentary to scout the women’s match. She played it down the middle in the interest of competition.

Also of note, Joe Galli and Tim Storm called the action. Kyle Davis worked as interviewer and ring announcer. May Valentine was a reporter. Sal Rinauro and Austin Idol appeared as well.
NWA Powerrr episode 22 (Mar. 23, 2021) results:
- Kamille defeated Alex Gracia. Powerbomb, torture rack, and two spears.
- Fred Rosser defeated Matt Cross and Marshe Rockett in a three-way. Rosser pinned Cross on a fireman’s carry gutbuster.
- Mike Parrow defeated Jordan Clearwater. Too much power from Parrow with a sitdown piledriver to win.
- Nick Aldis, Thom Latimer, & Chris Adonis defeated Aron Stevens, Kratos, & Pope. The match broke down into chaos. Kratos tagged himself in when Pope was lining up to finish. Kratos grabbed a chair to hit Adonis, but Stevens snatched the chair away. Adonis used the distraction for a roll-up victory.
The show opened with Velvet Sky joining the commentary team. She called it down the middle as an unbiased spectator.

Still surreal to me to get to do this, & explore this new avenue outside the ring. I’m in love with it already and am beyond grateful for the opportunity.

Strictly Business needed a third for the main event, so Aldis chose Adonis. It wasn’t presented as an official invitation for Adonis to join the crew. It seemed like strictly business to fill the spot and win the match, but perhaps that relationship will grow over time.
There appears to be tension between tag champs Stevens and Kratos. Stevens has found the babyface light and wants to earn success in the ring the proper way. Kratos was angry and talked down to Stevens.
Thunder Rosa is still focused on regaining the NWA women’s title. Melina came out to offer her services as a manager, but Rosa declined. She clearly did not trust Melina.

In other story beats, Latimer wants a TV title rematch against Pope after their draw at the PPV, Austin Idol introduced Tyrus as his new client, and Slice Boogie has his eye on May Valentine.
The replay of Back for the Attack is available through Fite TV. Powerrr is offered for a $4.99 monthly fee and airs Tuesdays at 6:05 pm ET.
