Women’s Tag Team Championship
Shayna Baszler & Nia Jax (c) vs. Sasha Banks & Bianca Belair

Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks are destined to make history at WrestleMania when they face each other for the SmackDown Women’s Championship. Before that, however, they have the opportunity to walk into the grandest stage of them all as the Women’s Tag Team Champions. If one small, wine-slinging fashionista doesn’t get in the way, that is.

The Road to Fastlane

When Bianca Belair won the Royal Rumble, everyone screamed into the Twitter void, “OMG, SHE’S GOING TO FACE SASHA AT MANIA!” Of course, in true WWE form, they made us wait several weeks until that match was made official. In the meantime, Bianca and Sasha struck up an unlikely friendship based on mutual respect and game recognizing game. And as such, they started to tag regularly on SmackDown, the show with all the tags.

It was starting to look like their match at Mania would be one based on said respect. Not a rivalry per se, but more of a “let’s show these suits where the money is at” match. That is until one sommelier got in the way.

Reginald, the man with the worst taste in champagne, ditched Carmella for Sasha, and while Sasha didn’t hire him to bring her wine, she clearly liked the attention. Hey, it’s not her fault she looks that good! Unfortunately for Sasha (and therefore Bianca), Reginald started to get involved in their matches, causing both women to lose several times.

Sasha still sees Reginald as a harmless groupie, but Bianca knows better, and she knows a distraction when she sees one in loafers. Hence the tension.

Cue Nia Jax and her devious, if slightly (ok super) sexual, plan of literally picking Reginald up off the floor and turning him into her very pampered and very distracting sugar baby. Yep, Nia’s a sugar mama now, and she’s using Reginald to distract Sasha Banks even further. It’s a win/win for Nia Jax all around. Even her disgruntled and super annoyed tag partner, Shayna Baszler, has seemed to accept this extremely horny plan.

So the women’s tag match has 100% turned into can Sasha Banks focus long enough on her match to win gold for her and her WrestleMania partner, or will Nia’s sugar baby prove to be too much of a distraction.

What’s at Stake?

This goes one of two ways.

One - Sasha and Bianca win the tag titles, and head into WrestleMania are partners and have a good ole fashioned “anything you can do I can do better” match.

Two - Reginald distracts Sasha long enough for Nia and Shayna to retain their championships, causing an irreconcilable rift between Bianca and Sasha, giving the duo real heat going into their championship match at WrestleMania.

Whatever happens, I think it’s clear that the real winner here is Reginald. God. Dammit.
