New Japan Cup has been booming and now we’re finally at the finals!

Like all of New Japan’s other major events, the show will be broadcast worldwide on New Japan's streaming service, NJPW World.

Today’s action takes place in Sendai’s Xebio Arena Sendai, kicking off at a ripe 1AM Eastern / 10PM Pacific, and all we know as I write this on Saturday afternoon is that the tournament has come down to a finals of Shingo Takagi vs. Will Ospreay!

The show opens with YOH returning from injury and declaring his intent to challenge for the junior tags with SHO!

Suzuki-gun (DOUKI, Taichi, & Zack Sabre, Jr.) over Gabriel Kidd, Yota Tsuji, & Yuya Uemura by pinfall with Dangerous Backdrop from Taichi on Tsuji.

THE EMPIRE (Great-O-Khan & Jeff Cobb) over Satoshi Kojima & Tomoaki Honma by pinfall with Tour of the Islands from Cobb on Honma.

Bullet Club (EVIL, KENTA, & Yujiro Takahashi) over Chaos (SHO, Toru Yano, & YOSHI-HASHI) by pinfall with Pimp Juice from Yujiro on Tacos.

Los Ingobernables de Japon (BUSHI, SANADA, & Tetsuya Naito) over FinJuice (David Finlay & Juice Robinson) & Toa Henare by pinfall with an O’Connor roll from SANADA on Henare.

Hiroshi Tanahashi, Kazuchika Okada, & Kota Ibushi over Bullet Club (Bad Luck Fale, Chase Owens, & “Switchblade” Jay White) by pinfall with Kamigoye from Ibushi on Owens.

Will Ospreay over Shingo Takagi by pinfall with Stormbreaker. (New Japan Cup Finals)

Post-match, Ospreay called Ibushi out and cut a promo saying he doesn’t care about the IWGP title, he just cares about being number one, and hit Stormbreaker on Bea Priestley to prove that he’ll do whatever it takes. Gross.

Enjoy the show!
