Andrade reportedly requested his WWE release

Mary Ann Mason on Twitter

Earlier today (Mar. 12), internet sleuths noticed that Andrade had removed all reference to WWE from his social media accounts. That, and messages like this one...

... fired up the wrestle web’s speculation engine, especially in combination with this Twitter exchange with his old Los Ingobernables mate RUSH:

It would be hard to blame Andrade if he’s frustrated. A former NXT and United States champion, the 31 year old hasn’t wrestled since last October. That was a quick loss to his former tag partner Angel Garza (who’s also largely disappeared from WWE television over the past month). There were reports he was taking time off for an elective procedure, and he’s teased a comeback on occasion. But outside of showing up with fiancee Charlotte Flair on Instagram, we haven’t seen much of him.

Andrade’s let fans believe he was on his way out before, and at first this seemed like it might be just another round of the work he did shortly after Zelina Vega’s release. But now the dirt screens have chimed in.

Wrestling Inc says Andrade asked for his release backstage at Raw this past Monday night.* No word on what WWE’s response was - they’ve been reticent to let talent go since AEW’s emerged as another option, but perhaps something could be worked out in an effort to keep El Idolo’s future wife and father-in-law happy?

Stay tuned.
