The artist formerly known as Buddy Murphy will be wrestling under the name Buddy Matthews and make his first appearance for New Japan Pro Wrestling on Nov. 13, 2021, in San Jose, California, at the Battle in the Valley event:

Matthews was released by WWE back in June and had been teasing doing something with multiple promotions. An independent appearance last month led some to believe perhaps AEW would be in his future. That may very well still be the case but for now, he’s heading for NJPW.
