Matt Hardy takes a scary bump, then comes back to finish match at All Out

Matt Hardy and Sammy Guevara have been feuding over the fact that the latter accidentally injured the former by recklessly throwing the wrong chair at his head. The shoot became part of the work, and Hardy has been vowing to end Guevara’s entire career in response, going so far as to put his own career on the line in a “Broken Rules” match at the AEW All Out pay-per-view from Daily’s Place in Jacksonville, Florida.

During the course of said match, they set up a spot where Guevara speared Hardy off the top of a scissors lift with a table set up underneath. The problem was they overshot the table and it looked like Hardy hit his head straight on the concrete.

The announcers made note of as much, and it took some time before Hardy could get his legs under him. He clearly appeared to be injured. The doctor came over, checked on him, demanded the match be stopped, and they rang the bell.

This led to cutting to the commentary team talking about Hardy having a family and needing to be smart when suddenly he went back after Guevara and the match was inexplicably allowed to continue. They seemed to rush straight into what may have been the planned finish all along, with Hardy not taking any more damage after the scary bump.

That finish:

Here’s to hoping Hardy is okay.
