AEW’s latest PPV, Sept. 5’s All Out, featured one of the promotion’s Casino gimmick matches for a future World title shot. This time it was a battle royal (May’s Double or Nothing’s was a ladder match). Four groups of five men entered at staggered intervals, with a surprise 21st competitor coming in last.
Drawing the “joker” in Jacksonville tonight was Matt Sydal. The Ring of Honor legend, who also had a WWE run as Evan Borne, did not have his arrival go as planned...
Sending good vibes to Sydal. Ouch. #AEWAllOut pic.twitter.com/dm1WMrdezh

That wasn’t the worst spot of the match, either. For some reason they did one where Brian Cage powerbombed Darby Allin to the ramp while he was in a body bag. His landing did not look clean,
If Darby Allin doesn’t have a serious neck injury after this knuckle headed spot, I will be genuinely surprised. They spiked him right on his head. #AEWAllOut pic.twitter.com/arjhTJgh1J

No update on Allin, but luckily, Sydal was okay. He lasted long enough to eliminate Shawn Spears, and was one of the final four along with Lance Archer, Eddie Kingston, and The Butcher.
It came down to Kingston and Archer. Each man got an assist, Eddie from his ally Butcher and the Murderhawk Monster from his manager, Jake The Snake Roberts. The Mad King has a fear of snakes, you see, and Jake brought one with him. Tossing the bag which supposedly contained said reptile at Kingston while he was perched on the top turnbuckle was all the edge Lance needed to stand tall.
Don't say @LanceHoyt didn't warn you... #AEWAllOut

They almost did, Lance. They almost did.
At some point in the future, Archer will get a chance to take the belt from the winner of tonight’s Jon Moxley vs. MJF match.
