AEW ratings soar with no competition from NXT

AEW Dynamite

The ratings and viewership data are in for this week’s (Sept. 2) AEW Dynamite.

Per Showbuzz Daily, Dynamite netted 928,000 viewers for a .36 rating point in the 18-49 demographic.

For AEW, this is an increase of about 115,000 viewers from last Thursday’s show, and a big spike from last Thursday’s 0.29 demo rating. Dynamite finished 8th place in the demo rating for the night.

Fans have been curious as to what AEW’s numbers would look like if Dynamite was unopposed by NXT on Wednesday nights. These results are in line with some of AEW’s best ratings and viewership numbers of 2020, that the promotion was achieving on a weekly basis back in January. As far as pandemic era numbers are concerned, the ratings have never been better.

They didn’t reach new heights (for example, over one million viewers) without competition from NXT, but there’s no doubt that AEW is pleased with the interest level in their product as All Out approaches this weekend, Sept. 5.

Here’s a breakdown of AEW viewership and rating in the 18-49 demo:
