This afternoon (Sept. 23), Lance Archer revealed he recently tested positive for COVID-19.
When I returned from our last show, a family member was ill when I got home. I found out later a friend who had taken my family member to the Vet for our Dachshund was COVID positive. While at home, now I’ve also gotten sick tested positive. I feel ok, expect to see me in 2 wks

Archer is the top ranked challenger for AEW’s men’s singles titles, and is booked to face Jon Moxley for the World championship on the the Anniversary edition of Dynamite next month. Part of the build for that was a six-man tag match on tonight’s show, pitting Moxley, Will Hobbs & Darby Allin against the Murderhawk Monster, Brian Cage & Ricky Starks.
Instead, Tony Khan’s booked an impromptu title match. Mox will face Eddie Kingston in what should be a very fun affair that also addresses a plot thread from All Out’s Casino Battle Royal earlier this month - the match that made Archer the #1 contender in the first place...
Change of plans. I'm putting up the title tonight. Live TV babe. #AEWDynamite

Tonight on #AEWDynamite Live on TNT at 8pm ET/7 CT, JonMoxley v. Eddie Kingston for the AEW Championship! There were questions about if Eddie’s Battle Royale elimination was valid (Lance + Eddie were the final 2, Lance threw him off the top but not over), now Eddie gets his shot! https://t.co/mySZDyzjmP pic.twitter.com/bXLdmccBuO

Sounds like the plan is for Archer vs. Moxley to still go down on Oct. 14 as long as the challenger’s symptoms don’t worsen and the coronavirus runs its course.
Unless he ends up facing the Mad King... join us in our live blog tonight and we’ll find out who leaves Dynamite as World champ.
