AEW Rankings (Sep. 2, 2020): Young Bucks have a path to be #1 after All Out

AEW released their latest rankings (Sep. 2, 2020). Let’s check out the movers and shakers before the All Out PPV on September 5.

Men:

AEW

No changes with the men this week. Jon Moxley will get a chance to pad his record against MJF’s lawyer, Mark Sterling.

For All Out, Moxley will defend against #1 MJF, #2 Lance Archer and #4 Brian Cage will compete in the Casino Battle Royale, Mr. Brodie Lee and #5 Scorpio Sky will be on opposing sides of an 8-man tag bout. I don’t see much movement taking place after the PPV.

Women:

AEW

Abadon moves over Penelope Ford to #3. Ford and Dr. Britt Baker DMD took a lose in their 3-on-1 handicap match against Big Swole last week.

For All Out, Hikaru Shida will defend against NWA Women’s Champion Thunder Rosa. #2 Big Swole will get a match against #5 Dr. Britt Baker, but it has not yet been made official for All Out. Swole can chose the stipulation. As with the men, I don’t see much movement after the PPV.

Tag Team:

AEW

Dark Order got screwed. They were bounced with an 8-2 record in favor of the Jurassic Express at 6-3. The obvious reason telegraphs tonight’s result for Jurassic Express & Young Bucks vs Private Party & SCU. The winners get a match against each other at All Out. How convenient that Jurassic Express is ranked to make it a top 5 matchup for the PPV. That’s a terrible job of blatant rankings manipulation. Either that or I’m supposed to believe a win over Jon Cruz & David Ali on Dark carried weight over the inactive duo of Stu Grayson & Evil Uno.

#3 Young Bucks have a chance to be ranked in the top spot after All Out. Santana & Ortiz wrestle #2 Best Friends tonight on Dynamite. Even though Santana & Ortiz are unranked, they have the talent to be champs. A loss by Trent and Chuck Taylor is a very real possibility. The Bucks obviously need to win tonight’s 8-man then take care of business against #5 Jurassic Express to boost their resume. Hangman Page & Kenny Omega will defend against #1 FTR at All Out. If FTR loses, they won’t remain at #1. That will be the Bucks’ shot to climb to the top.

Do you agree with AEW’s rankings this week? If not, what would you change?
