AEW Fallout: Mick Foley praises Parking Lot Fight, Chris Jericho denies injuring Matt Hardy, more!

The big stories coming out of Dynamite (Sep. 16, 2020) were Santana & Ortiz and Best Friends putting on one the greatest street fights ever, Thunder Rosa retaining the NWA World Women’s Championship against Ivelisse, and Will Hobbs making the save for Jon Moxley. The fallout includes a hardcore legend praising the parking lot brawl, Chris Jericho denying involvement in injuring Matt Hardy, and other goodies.

Mick Foley shared praise for the parking lot brawl. He rated it two thumbs way up.

It’s nice to know that a man with a keen eye for hardcore craziness observed that the match was executed safely considering the circumstances of the action.

Foley also complimented a fellow Long Island boy.

Either that or Foley was being literal about smelling money on MJF. We all know that Foley was notorious for pinching pennies on the road, so he might be lured in by the sweet scent of MJF’s wealth.

Matt Hardy was victim to a mysterious attack that left him lying in pain. Many believe Chris Jericho to be the culprit, but he remains steadfast in denial.

Hardy will be back on Wednesday to do some detective work.

Two takeaways from Hardy’s conversation. First, I like the idea of a whodunit mystery. It could lead to an intriguing new feud. Or not. If it actually is Jericho or Sammy Guevara, then that would extend past storylines but be a little of a letdown. I feel like the shelf life has expired for Hardy’s exploits against the Inner Circle. Time for something new.

Second, count me in the group that assumed Hardy would be taking time off after his dangerous fall at All Out. I guess absence is not really necessary as long as he stays out of the ring for awhile. Hardy does have something to offer behind the scenes, so his presence on camera is a productive double dip since he is there anyway. Best wishes for Hardy to recover from all his real and fake injuries.

Ivelisse and Diamante have fighting words for Hikaru Shida and Thunder Rosa.

Thunder Rosa shot back that Ivelisse is not on her level. She was peeved that Diamante got involved and that Ivelisse doesn’t have the balls to do it by herself.

That tag match is scheduled for next week’s Dynamite. There may be an extra layer of spice after Ivelisse and Thunder Rosa reportedly exchanged shoot strikes as tempers flared during their match.

AEW Dark is coming with 11 bouts for Tuesday.

I’ve got my eye on Ricky Starks vs Christopher Daniels. That should deliver the goods as the main event. It appears that Will Hobbs isn’t the only talent with a recent promotion to the A-side. Ben Carter and Serena Deeb look like locks to win. Carter lost his AEW debut to Starks on Dark earlier this month. Deeb made noise as a tough competitor in defeat to Thunder Rosa last month. Both would be solid additions long-term.

We’ll close with a little humor for those that routinely watch Dark. Veda Scott has Taz’s pen locked down.

Who do you think attacked Matt Hardy? Are you happy that he won’t be taking time away? Are you excited for Ben Carter and Serena Deeb on Dark?
