Dexter Lumis out of TakeOver due to an ankle injury

WWE NXT’s Twitter

Last week, Dexter Lumis defeated Finn Bálor and Timothy Thatcher to qualify for the TakeOver: XXX ladder match for the vacant North American title.

Unfortunately, a week later, Lumis is out of that match.

William Regal reported tonight that Dexter sustained an ankle injury (who that had landed him on last week’s injury report) in that bout and will not be cleared to compete in the ladder match. It’s a definite shame for Lumis as he’s been doing some strong work as of late.

Regal also let us know how the last two spots were going to be filled.

There will be a triple threat next week to fill one spot - Kushida, Cameron Grimes, and a mystery opponent. Plus, all those who didn’t get pinned in their matches will compete in two singles matches to fill the last two spots.

Right now, that includes Johnny Gargano, Finn Bálor, and Ridge Holland.

We’ll know more after next week. Right now, we do know that’s some tough news for Dexter Lumis. Hopefully he’s back creepin’ soon.
