AEW released their latest rankings (Aug. 5, 2020). Let’s check out the movers and shakers.

Another week with no changes for the men. Jon Moxley defends the AEW World Championship tonight on Dynamite against #5 Darby Allin. I think it is a safe bet that Moxley will retain.
That brings up the question of who should slide into that 5 spot after Allin loses. Scorpio Sky might be the man for that honor. He has been quietly racking up wins on Dark to the tune of a 7-1 record. Sky not so quietly cut a promo demanding a spot at the table or else he’ll have to kick the door down. Seeing Sky try to climb through Mr. Brodie Lee, Brian Cage, and Lance Archer toward a title shot would be compelling.

Abadon is creeping up. A win on Dark elevated her past AEW’s injured dentist. I wouldn’t be surprised if Abadon parlays this momentum into a title shot at All Out on September 5. It is too soon for Hikaru Shida to lose the title or hand losses to Penelope Ford and Nyla Rose in rematches.

Fresh off signing official AEW contracts, FTR is now ranked. They shot straight to the top. That may seem odd to jump in so high, but it makes sense with the contract story. That pretty much guarantees FTR a shot at the champs for All Out.
Best Friends remain steady at #2. The Dark Order dropped to #3 after losing their title match against Hangman Page & Kenny Omega. The Young Bucks and Jurassic Express slid down a spot accordingly with the rise of FTR.
Do you agree with AEW’s rankings this week? If not, what would you change?
