It’s been the clear direction for at least a couple weeks now, but AEW went ahead and confirmed that Maxwell Jacob Friedman will challenge for their World championship at this year’s All Out PPV.
Current titleholder Jon Moxley is defending against Darby Allin on Dynamite this week, so they were careful to not specify the match as MJF vs. Mox just yet. But it would be pretty shocking if that wasn’t the bout we end up getting on Sat., Sept. 5.

MJF’s been groomed as one of All Elite’s top heels since he turned on Cody at last fall’s Full Gear show. He’s been sitting atop their men’s singles rankings since May 27.
This is the first match booked for this year’s All Out. AEW has yet to announce a location or venue for their big Labor Day weekend PPV.
