AEW DYNAMITE RESULTS AND LIVE BLOG FOR AUG. 27

What carnal secrets does he hide? His ruthless rage will come. Buried deep inside his mind, the rites of the saw began. The saw is the law, but me? I’m here to liveblog this pro wrestling show for you, folks.

The show opens into the intro video.

Chris Jericho makes his entrance in a slick leopard print blazer and joins the commentary desk.

Best Friends (Chuck Taylor & Trent?) vs. FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood) vs. Natural Nightmares (Dustin Rhodes vs. QT Marshall) vs. Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) (AEW World Tag Team Championship #1 Contender’s Gauntlet Match)

Nightmares and Bucks to start, Marshall and Nick trading nearfalls off pinning predicaments. Headlock, shot off, Jackson with a backslide for one and QT with a sunset flip, same result. More nearfalls, Matt tags in, double-teams but Marshall drags him over and tags Rhodes in. Forearm, off the ropes, caught with a hip toss, arm drag, arm drag, arm drag, Dustin blocks one and calls for a time out!

A little blown up, he waves Matt back in, no dice on the hip toss, Oklahoma roll for two and then the powerslam! Tag back to Marshall, he gets a dropkick for two, Dustin up top, feeling himself into an elbow drop, he’s legal and he does an arm wringer into a leg drop to the elbow and a standing armbar.

Nick tags in, shot off, slingshot in, off the ropes, leapfrog dropkick! Stereo dropkicks send QT out of the ring! Bucks double whip, hammering away at Rhodes, but he fires back with a flip piledriver! Tags made, Marshall in hot with lariats, whip reversed, flying shoulder block takes Jackson out! STO backbreaker into a reverse STO... NICK JACKSON KICKS OUT!

Nick slips out of a slam, tag made, Marshall’s got ‘em both for the handspring but they dodge... SUPERKICK PARTY! Bucks fired up, fireman’s carry, QT with a shove into the corner and a schoolboy for a deep two! Alarm Clock forearm connects but a Jackson stuns him with an enzuigiri and makes the tag! Sandwiching him...

Young Bucks eliminate Natural Nightmares by pinfall with a BTE Trigger on QT Marshall.

Best Friends out next, Taylor starting with Nick, circling, collar and elbow, Chuck rams him in the corner and gets the tag. Isolating him, double shoulder block, Taylor comes up lame on a flip but manages to whip Nick to the corner. Flair Flip, kick for Trent, springboard DDT, moonsault off the apron, Beretta destroys him with a spear!

Back inside, they stack Nick up... NOPE! Best Friends keeping the pressure up, Nick heads to the floor to trip Chuck up and try and get back into the fight but Trent cuts him off on the apron... NICK JACKSON GERMAN SUPLEXES HIM ON THE APRON! Tag to Matt, he comes in hot, lighting Best Friends up with punches and chops, snapping off a DDT on Taylor!

Trent with a kick to the gut, whip reversed, he flips up top and Matt pries him down into a Tombstone clutch. Beretta slips out, whip to the corner, knee up, springboard Diamond Dust! Trent kicks out! Rolling northern lights suplexes to follow it up, but Beretta gets a tornado DDT! Chuck in, trading forearms, Jackson sandwiches him in the corner for an enzuigiri!

Running knee on Trent but Taylor snaps off a release powerbomb! Tag back to Beretta, forearm sets up the Sole Food / half nelson suplex combo, Best Friends snap zoom hug! Got him up for Strong Zero but the Bucks block it and pull Chuck to the floor! Trent ducks a roundhouse kick, lands a chop, eats a roundhouse kick and falls to the apron!

Hanging Beretta off the apron... NICK JACKSON SENTON ATOMICO OFF THE APRON! Back inside, tag to Matt, hanging Trent off the ropes this time... 450 SPLASH OFF THE TOP BUT BERETTA FINDS THE WHEREWITHAL TO KICK OUT! Looking for the Meltzer Driver but Hangman Page is at ringside and he hangs onto Nick’s leg...

Best Friends eliminate the Young Bucks by pinfall with a victory roll from Trent on Matt Jackson.

A distraught Hangman Page stares at the Young Bucks, who can’t believe what just happened to them.

FTR come out last, accompanied by Tully Blanchard, to send us to break.

Back from commercial, Wheeler is working Taylor’s leg over with a toehold. Tag to Harwood, stepover leglock, spinning toehold, Chuck fights out and gets a folding press! Cash suplexes Trent on the floor, Taylor pulls him up but Dax chop blocks him! Quick tags, Harwood with a trailer hitch...

FTR win, last eliminating Best Friends by submission with an inverted figure four leglock from Dax Harwood on Chuck Taylor to become #1 contender to the AEW World Tag Team Championship.

And so we go to break.

Back from commercial, we get a Darby Allin video package.

Lance Archer vs. Sean Maluta

Hey, it’s Sean Maluta, formerly of the Unwanted! Maluta is great, but this is a squash...

Lance Archer wings by pinfall with repeated EBD Claw slams.

And so we go to break.

Back from commercial, Jake “the Snake” Roberts gets on the mic, in a manner that I certainly would not describe as orgasmic.

He talks about the Casino Battle Royal at All Out and tells Lance Archer that this is his chance to make up for the blemish that was their debut. Lance says he can take twenty men out, because everybody dies, and Jake says feeding Archer is like feeding a wood chipper.

Enter Brian Cage, Ricky Starks, and Taz.

Roberts describes them as the Flintstones, Fred, Barney, and Wilma, and Taz calls him out.

He says they’ve never crossed paths but you have to understand that a member of Team Taz is winning the battle royal. Jake tells them to put on chicken suits because if they come to the battle royal, they’re gonna get plucked. Taz says he’s trying to be a gentleman and keep this calm, but one of his boys is winning.

Darby Allin skateboards down and assaults Starks! They brawl up onto the stage and to the back! The big men’s respective managers hold them back!

We go backstage with Maxwell Jacob Friedman and his entourage.

He’s in a neck brace and using a walker and berates one of his security guards for allegedly mocking him before slowing making his way through the arena.

A video package for NWA Women’s World Champion Thunder Rosa’s AEW Women’s World Championship title shot follows and sends us to break.

Back from commercial, Maxwell Jacob Friedman makes his entrance, alongside his entourage.

AEW World Champion and 2020 PWI 500 #1 Jon Moxley makes his entrance.

It’s announced that the Paradigm Shift will be banned from their title match, and Max signs the contract. He goes on about how we’ve all seen contract signings in pro wrestling and know how they end. MJF says he’s not an animal, and he can separate business from emotion, and he’d appreciate if Jon would practice social distancing now, like his hairline.

Mox says Friedman’ll get there some day, he just needs to hit puberty first. Max says everybody sees Moxley as a one trick pony, “Ooh, I’m crazy!”, but he’s real good, and that’s why the people love him. A few months back “Iron” Mike Tyson was watching Jon wrestle and said to everybody around him that he wouldn’t want to be in a dark alley with Moxley.

And he wouldn’t want to be in a dark alley with him either, but they won’t be fighting in a dark alley, it’ll be in a pro wrestling ring, and he’s going to take Mox apart systematically and concisely, using every single part of the ring to his advantage with the same steady hands and consistency as a brain surgeon.

Jon isn’t a wrestler, he’s a glorified goon, and he’s gonna spend the whole match trying to pull MJF out into his world, because that’s all he knows. He grew up idolizing guys like Sandman, New Jack, John Zandig, and Atsushi Onita... you know, hot garbage. Whereas MJF idolized guys like Buddy Rogers, Ernie Ladd, and Tully Blanchard, and that’s why he’s gonna keep him in the ring like a dog on a leash and beat him like the dog he is.

And when the dust settles, he’s gonna be AEW World Champion, because we deserve better. But he doesn’t get why Moxley thinks he needs the Paradigm Shift to beat him, and maybe he should tell that hot little wife of his that he’s single. Max tells him to sign the contract or he’ll sue. Moxley says he thinks he’s taking his most dangerous weapon away, but really all he’s doing is forcing him to be creative, to think of all the limbs he can snap, all the ways he can choke him until he turns blue, all the ways he can hurt him.

He doesn’t want to get sued and he doesn’t know any lawyers, so he’s gonna go ahead and sign his little contract, but remember two things— nothing you say matters, and nothing he signs matters. On September 5, MJF is a dead man.

Friedman’s lawyer pops huge and says this was the stupidest thing Moxley’s ever done. He says it’s cool, they didn’t even have to break the table and they accepted what he added on page seventeen without raising a fuss. And what is that clause? He gets a match against the lawyer next week, and if he doesn’t show up, MJF doesn’t get his match!

Paradigm Shift will be legal, and lawyer boy better bring a helmet!

And so we go to break.

Back from commercial, we get a promo for Santana and Ortiz talking up their feud with Best Friends.

Eddie Kingston gets a promo where he says everybody on the internet is talking about his new faction but they need to grow up— these are his people from back in the day, before AEW, and he doesn’t like what he’s seeing. This is about championship, and that’s where he’s leading them.

Brian Pillman, Jr., Griff Garrison, Joey Janela, & Sonny Kiss vs. Butcher and the Blade (Andy Williams & Pepper Parks) & Lucha Brothers (Pentagon, Jr. & Rey Fenix)

Garrison and Parks to start, Williams runs in and the match breaks down into chaos! The match settles down with Butcher and the Blade working Griff over, but he gets a big boot and takes him over for a tag to Kiss! She lights him up with forearms, Matrix evasion, hip toss blocked, off the ropes, tijeras connects! Handspring slap in the corner!

Another Matrix, Pepper hoists her up, Sonny slips out, rolling elbow! Tag to Janela, double whip, double hip toss, Kiss basement dropkick and Joey with a Russian legsweep! Sonny with a splits kick, Janela backing Parks into the corner, whip across, sidestep the backsplash and Andy tags in as the match breaks down again and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Janela’s isolated but fighting back! Williams comes in and throws him out onto the stage, but Joey hits a Stunner over the top rope! Slingshot back in, duck under Fenix, tag to Kiss! She slides under, dropsault, whip reversed, headscissors kick to the head, diving Frankensteiner!

Step-up senton, Shadows Over Hell style, off the top with the splits, nobody home! Rey clocks her one and clears the apron, chop into a step-up lucha arm drag attempt but Sonny cuts him off and the Bad Boy hits a Death Valley Driver on the apron! Penta runs in... PACKAGE PILEDRIVER ON THE APRON! Andy and Brian brawling, chops and forearms, suplex neckbreaker and a tag to Penta!

Underhooks, Rey with the double stomp...

Butcher and the Blade & Lucha Brothers win by pinfall with a double-team hanging underhook brainbuster / double stomp combo from Lucha Brothers on Brian Pillman, Jr.

Post-match, Eddie Kingston demands referee Bryce Remsburg raise his boys’ hands. He says the PPV is coming up and all five of them are gonna be in the Casino Battle Royal, which means one of them is definitely winning it.

We get a recap of Mr. Brodie Lee winning the AEW TNT Championship from Cody Rhodes last week and brutalizing him in the aftermath.

The Dark Order make their entrance, toting a casket and setting it down on the stage.

Evil Uno says they’ve been on cloud nine since Saturday, and they’ve been treating themselves, buying lawnmowers and cars. They’re here tonight to say goodbye to Cody, and where is he? They open the casket and there’s a man cloaked in a Nightmare Family jacket inside! He sits up to reveal that it’s 10, and Uno tells him to throw the jacket in the casket.

They drape a Nightmare Family flag across the casket and Uno gives Mr. Brodie Lee a big introduction. He comes out with Anna Jay right behind him and slaps hands and hugs the rest of the Dark Order before calling Tony Schiavone up to interview him.

They move to the ring and Tony says he can’t see anybody taking the title from Brodie for a long time. Lee wants him to think back to last December, when he was home in prison and everyone was laughing at these men, but he says what he’s gonna do, and he told Cody the gold was coming home with him.

The open challenge is over, no more TV time for indie wrestlers on his watch, and Cody will never, ever, ever get the title back. The Dark Order give him a “You deserve it!” chant but he cuts them off and introduces the newest member of the Dark Order family, Anna Jay, 99, the Gray One, the Queenslayer!

John Silver says he’s been celebrating since Sunday and he wants to tell Lee that he’s the man, which earns him a knockout punch!

The Natural Nightmares hit the ring but quickly find themselves overwhelmed by the Dark Order’s numbers! SCORPIO SKY JOINS THE FRAY! MATT CARDONA HITS THE ROUGH RYDER ON UNO AND HITS THE RING LIKE A HOUSE AFIRE! They run the Dark Order off to the stage together, but Brodie stands tall and holds the title high.

And so we go to break.

Back from commercial, “Hangman” Adam Page is interviewed backstage.

He starts to answer to his actions earlier when the Young Bucks roll up to accuse him of being insecure and trying to dodge another title match against them. All they wanted was a friend and he’s always been good enough to hang with them, but it’s time someone told him the truth— he’s nothing but a drunk.

Matt throws his drink in his face and says they were hanging onto something that didn’t exist, and they’re done with him. He’s out of the Elite!

Dr. Britt Baker, DMD gets on the mic and says if Big Swole can beat her team tonight, she can have any match she wants.

“Big Swole” Aerial Monroe vs. Dr. Britt Baker, DMD, Penelope Ford, & Rebel (Handicap Match)

Rebel and Ford double-teaming Monroe out the gates but she fires back with forearms! Bell rings, an awkward Death Valley Driver from Penelope for two, Big Swole with forearms and a wicked headbutt that staggers both women! Ford choking her in the ropes, Baker stabbing her with her crutch, Rebel tags in and heads up top.

Unsteady on her feet, Aerial cuts her off and climbs up to join her! AVALANCHE FRANKENSTEINER BUT KIP SABIAN IS ON THE ROPES RUNNING INTERFERENCE! BIG SWOLE DROPS HIM WITH A ROLLING ELBOW ON THE FLOOR! Penelope throws her back inside, tags in, chickenwings hold her in place while we play musical crutches and Monroe ducks the shot, leaving Ford to take it...

Big Swole wins by pinfall with a lateral press on Penelope Ford, earning her match against Dr. Britt Baker, DMD.

Post-match, the Dark Order drop off a recruitment packet with Tay Conti. She hugs Anna Jay, she’s in!

Commentary hypes up the All Out card as it currently stands.

Sammy Guevara makes his entrance to send us to break.

Matt Hardy vs. Sammy Guevara (Tables Match)

Hardy with a wicked slap to the face into hammerfists, a front chancery, wrenching it in while Guevara tries to punch him away to no avail. Kick to the stomach, sidestep the charge, Sammy with an enzuigiri but Matt fires right back with punches and hammerfists! Guevara with a front chancery, thinking tornado DDT but when he springboards Hardy shoves him to the floor!

Throwing Sammy over the barricade, following after him, whip back over the barricade and he throws a chair at Guevara’s head as we go to break!

Back from commercial... SIDE EFFECT ON THE APRON! GUEVARA’S BUSTED OPEN! MATT PUTS HIM ON A TABLE AND DROPS A DIVING ELBOW BUT SAMMY ROLLS AWAY! Back in the ring, Hardy horsecollars Sammy with a chair... TWIST OF FATE WITH A CHAIR! Matt gets another table out, with “DELETED!” written on it, and slides it in the ring, setting it up with the chair underneath it!

He puts Guevara on the chair and climbs the turnbuckles. Sammy climbs to meet him...

Sammy Guevara wins with a superplex through a table and a chair.

ORANGE CASSIDY JUMPS CHRIS JERICHO FROM OUT OF NOWHERE! THEY BRAWL OUT OF THE COMMENTARY AREA AND ONTO THE STAGE AS REFEREES SWARM AND TRY TO SEPARATE THEM! SUPERMAN PUNCH INTO GROUNDED FOREARMS! Y2J FIRES BACK!

WE’RE OUTTA TIME!

THAT’S THE SHOW, FOLKS!
