Here’s the plan for the vacant NXT title

Earlier tonight, a shoulder injury to Karrion Kross forced him to relinquish his title. That left NXT to decide what to do about the empty title.

William Regal laid it out for us.

It will be four former champions in a new gimmick. It’s a fatal 4-way Iron Man match, something that’s never been done. It will involve four of NXT’s top wrestlers in Finn Bálor, Adam Cole, Johnny Gargano, and Tommaso Ciampa.

The new gimmick surely could lend itself to a ton of weird finishes and even a 3 way or 4-way tie. (Seriously, what then?) But it’s probably going to be more entertaining than a straight up Iron Man match give the variety and caliber of talents.

If I had to guess, they go with Finn Bálor. He’s been strongly protected. Unlike Gargano who takes his shares of losses, Cole, who was just champion forever, and Tommaso, who just returned.
