Dynamite’s numbers only dip slightly with move to Saturday night

All Elite Wrestling

We don’t have the complete picture of the latest battle in the AEW/NXT war, since WWE doesn’t release viewership numbers for Network programs like Sat., Aug. 22’s TakeOver: XXX.

But we do know how Dynamite did when it was moved to Saturday night, pre-empted until 6:34 p.m. Eastern by the Indiana Pacers/Miami Heat NBA Playoff game that preceded it on TNT, and went head-to-head with TakeOver for much of its runtime...

Pretty much the same as it did the last time it was in its normal Wednesday night timeslot against NXT.

Showbuzz Daily’s numbers show that viewership was down slightly (37K), giving Dynamite it’s smallest audience since Fyter Fest night two went up against the spoiled NXT & North American title bout at Great American Bash.

The rating among 18 - 49 year olds also dipped, but the .31 was good enough for fifth among cable originals on the night, trailing only basketball and the UFC.

Here’s a breakdown of AEW viewership and rating in the 18-49 demo:

There’s a full cease fire in the war this week, with NXT on Wednesday and Dynamite bumped to Thursday by the NBA again. That’ll give Tony Khan and his partners at WarnerMedia time to breathe a sign of relief and be grateful for their audience’s loyalty.
