Word coming in tonight’s match between Ridge Holland and Johnny Gargano, a last chance match for a spot in TakeOver: XXX’s ladder match taped last week, was the match needed to be stopped after Johnny took a scary bump.
The rumor was they stopped the match for awhile and when they deemed him safe to continue, they did.
While they edited the time the match was stopped, the ugly bump was front and center (and replayed a good five times).
It was a powerslam from the big man gone wrong, dropping Johnny right on his head and neck. Here it is, but be warned it is not for the faint of heart.

It’s admirable that he finished the match, but it’s one of those bumps that maybe he shouldn’t have even if he insisted.
Johnny ended up winning the match after it started back up, so he’ll be in a ladder match for the vacant North American title this Saturday. Hopefully Johnny is feeling OK after that brutal spot and stays as safe as possible during the that match, though ladder matches have their own inherent danger.
