ROH Classics: Seth Rollins vs KENTA, Samoa Joe’s greatest moments, more!

Ring of Honor is here for your classic footage hook-up. Seth Rollins and KENTA put on a barn burner, Shane Taylor was showcased, The Honor List counted down Samoa Joe’s greatest moments, and Dalton Castle broke down the scientific effects of his Bang-A-Rang maneuver.

The free throwback match this week is Tyler Black (aka Seth Rollins) vs KENTA (fka Hideo Itami). This was a mighty fine match from 2009. It simmers a little then explodes into a blaze of action. Black was 23 years old at the time and showed why he was a prodigious talent at such a young age.

For other free bouts, Shane Taylor was showcased on episode 464 of ROH Wrestling (here). Matches during Taylor’s 218-day title run with the ROH World Television Championship were featured. He wrestled versus Bandido, versus Eli Isom, and a four-way versus Tracy Williams, Flip Gordon, and Dragon Lee.

If you have never seen Taylor before, then this is a good episode to get a sampling of his skills. Taylor is someone to keep an eye on for bigger things in the future. He is a hefty fellow with a mean style in the ring. The Bandido match is the best of that bunch. Bandido was awesome as always, and Taylor raised his game up a level for this battle.

Adding a bit of current content, Dalton Castle was next up for the Signature Moves series. Castle broke down the Bang-A-Rang. This finisher is much more scientific than I imagined. The centrifugal force from spinning causes the blood to rush to the opponent’s head.
