AEW Women’s Tag Team Tournament, Episode 2

AEW continues its “Deadly Draw” Women’s Tag Team Cup Tournament tonight (Mon., Aug. 10, 2020) on its YouTube channel starting at 7 pm ET. The tournament rules dictate that teams are determined by a random draw, and no one knows their teammate going in. There are 8 teams.

Quick hits:

- Our unannounced match sees Big Swole teaming with Lil Swole (the extremely talented Nicole Savoy, who AEW should sign pronto) against Leva Bates & Raché Chanel. The Swoles advance after a double-team DDT/blockbuster combo leads to Big pinning Leva. But Bates was protected for some reason - she had the match won if not for the referee being distracted by her partner taking forever to get out of the ring after breaking up a pin.

- After commercials for Heels, AEW action figures and All Out, we see the footage from earlier of Ivelisse & Diamante drawing each other as partners, and Madusa telling Dasha she’s in the tournament.

- In the second match, Ivelisse & Diamante advance after Ivelisse hits Dasha with a Destroyer.

- After some post-match comments from the Swoles, Tony Schiavone informs us next we’ll get both semi-finals. Here’s the match-ups...
