Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Important reminder: Rumors are just that — rumors. None of this has been confirmed as fact, it’s just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. We track rumor accuracy in a weekly feature called Rumor Look Back you can find here. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.

Rumors for the Day:

  • There’s been a lot of talk of Big E wrestling for a title sooner rather than later, likely AJ Styles for the Intercontinental championship.
  • The Observer notes that no one will say anything but there is a lot of internal unhappiness over NXT losing to AEW in viewership each week.
  • They also say the yellow brand has added two writers and is now up to five since the move to television.
  • WWE developmental talent is expected to return to training at a warehouse near the Performance Center today, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. There will be frequent testing and mandatory masks for anyone not in the ring, with only two people in the ring at a time.
  • Dave Meltzer noted on Twitter that the hope is Will Ospreay will be back in New Japan for the G1.
