Orange Cassidy is different from every other pro wrestler in the world. For some fans, he represents everything that’s wrong with the business. For others, Cassidy’s sloth style is endlessly entertaining and they can’t get enough of it.
With world champion Jon Moxley out of AEW’s Fyter Fest, Orange Cassidy’s match with Chris Jericho was bumped up to the main event slot tonight (July 8). This was the biggest match of Cassidy’s career. In response to that pressure, Cassidy showed that he’s a natural fit for the main event spot.
Of course it wouldn’t be an Orange Cassidy match if he didn’t unleash his terrifying signature kicks onto his hapless foe:

Le Champion needed to use every trick in the book to keep Cassidy at bay. This included having his Inner Circle stablemates, Santana and Ortiz, have some orange juice on standby so they could throw it in Cassidy’s face.

Jericho followed up with his baseball bat and a code breaker, but it still wasn’t enough to keep the babyface down.

Counter after counter was employed by OC, teasing several near falls. But he ultimately fell to Jericho’s Judas Effect.
Orange Cassidy lost the match against arguably the biggest star in the promotion, but he proved that he can deliver a great main event match for AEW.
