Ring of Honor is back with more classic material. There is a heavy focus on Japanese stars this time around as well as a countdown of Daniel Bryan’s top moments with the promotion and also the greatest rivalries in ROH.

Brian Danielson’s greatest moments

Brian Danielson (aka Daniel Bryan) is the focus of the latest edition of The Honor List. ROH looked at his greatest moments.

8. ROH’s first main event versus Low Ki and Christopher Daniels
7. Cage match versus Homicide
6. Submitting Kenta on the first ROH PPV
5. 60 minutes with Samoa Joe
4. Settling the score with Morishima
3. Winning the World Championship versus James Gibson (aka Jamie Noble)
2. Unifying the World and Pure titles versus Nigel McGuinness
1. Farewell match versus McGuinness

That list shows exactly why so many fans felt so strongly about Bryan’s ability when starting out with WWE. He might have the last recorded victory via airplane spin, and elbowing McGuinness into unconsciousness takes a special type of person.

EVIL celebrated

ROH celebrated EVIL’s best bouts after he won the IWGP Heavyweight and Intercontinental Championships. The list includes:

  • Pre-EVIL Takaaki Watanabe vs Jay Lethal (here)
  • EVIL & Naito vs Motor City Machine Guns (here)
  • EVIL & Los Ingobernables de Japon vs Bullet Club in ten-man tag action (here)
  • ROH TV Championship: EVIL vs Jeff Cobb (here)

If you have 34 minutes to blow and enjoy comedic wrestling, then check out the ten-man tag. LIJ brought EVIL, Bushi, Hiromu Takahashi, Sanada, and Tetsuya Naito, while Bullet Club consisted of Cody Rhodes, Hangman Page, Marty Scurll, and The Young Bucks. The UK crowd was hyped to the max. They even chanted an obscene message for FTR.

It took 11 minutes for the match to actually begin, but the intros were good fun and set the mood. The next 8 minutes was more crowd work than wrestling. The remaining portion of the bout had plenty of popping moves while keeping the sense of humor intact. The ten-man clash was an enjoyable spectacle overall. That is if you can look past a Meltzer Driver to a small stuffed animal. Members of the Cult of Cornette should not watch this bout.

Other free matches posted on ROH’s YouTube channel include:

  • Shingo & Matt Sydal vs Roderick Strong & Austin Aries (here)
  • Beer City Bruiser vs Brian Milonas with commentary (here)
  • Free Enterprise Battle Royal (here)
  • ROH Wrestling, episode #460 showcases Vincent (here)
  • ROH Wrestling, episode #461 pays tribute to Hana Kimura

The battle royal is a hoot with characters such as Danhausen, Blue Meanie, Maria Manic, and Gangrel. The finish had a wild surprise.

Greatest rivalries

In another edition of The Honor List, ROH counts down the greatest rivalries in their history.

8. Samoa Joe vs Bryan Danielson
7. Hardys vs Young Bucks
6. CM Punk vs Raven
5. CZW vs ROH
4. Briscoes vs Kevin Steen & El Generico
3. Bryan Danielson vs Nigel McGuinness
2. Kevin Steen vs El Generico
1. Samoa Joe vs CM Punk

Now, it’s time for some current content. Brody King declared that he is going solo away from Villain Enterprises. Be ready for violence.

Mark Haskins broke down his application of the Sharpshooter submission. He adds informative analysis about variations of the hold.

We’ll close with a deal for ROH hats.

Do you agree with the list of Bryan Danielson’s greatest ROH moments? What are your favorite rivalries from ROH?
