AEW Rankings (July 22, 2020): Chris Jericho gets hosed

All Elite Wrestling

AEW released their latest rankings (July 22, 2020). Let’s check out the movers and shakers.

Men:

AEW

MJF regained his rightful spot as #1 after Brian Cage lost to Jon Moxley. Lance Archer scooted up to #2. Cage dropped to #3. Mr. Brodie Lee moved up a spot to #4. Darby Allin broke through for #5.

I call bullshit on this week’s men’s rankings. The man who was booted is Chris Jericho. He was ranked #4 last week and is not ranked this week for whatever reason. First off, Darby doesn’t deserve to be ranked with 4 losses. Second, Darby’s win on Dark over Robert Anthony does not make his resume stronger than Jericho’s. Third, if anyone should be dropped for Darby, then it should have been Mr. Brodie. Neither Jericho nor Mr. Brodie had a match last week and Le Champion was ranked higher, so why does Jericho fall below the Exalted One? Wiggida, wiggida wack.

Women:

AEW

No changes for the women this week. Ivelisse wrestles Diamante tonight on Dynamite. It is likely that the winner will earn a title shot in Hikaru Shida’s upcoming open challenge.

Tag Team:

AEW

No changes for the tag division either. The Young Bucks will have a chance to rise if they can defeat Blade & Butcher in Falls Count Anywhere on Dynamite more impressively than if Jurassic Express can beat Jericho & Jake Hager. A loss by either ranked team would most likely knock them down a peg.

Do you agree with AEW’s rankings this week? If not, what would you change?
