After losing in a TNT championship match against Cody Rhodes yesterday (July 1) at Fyter Fest, Jake Hager crossed the line and struck the referee. The commentators played it up like a really big deal, so there had to be some follow up to this angle.
With that in mind, AEW announced that Hager has been suspended for 10 days and will be fined an undisclosed amount of money:

The 10 day suspension doesn’t seem to affect Hager much because he wasn’t advertised for anything on next week’s episode of Dynamite, which will be night two of Fyter Fest. That’s the only episode of Dynamite that falls in the 10 day suspension range. Maybe it prevents him from accompanying Chris Jericho to the ring for his match with Orange Cassidy, but that’s about it.
That means the “undisclosed” fine amount must be some ridiculously high number, right?
Do you think “Rock Hard” Jake Hager got a raw deal here, or should he have faced stiffer penalties?
