Keith Lee already defended both of his titles

When NXT moved to a live two hour broadcast, one feud they leaned on during that time was Keith Lee vs. Dominik Dijakovic. And it delivered. Multiple epic matches that fans really enjoyed.

Now that Keith Lee is double champ in NXT, they turned to Dijakovic as Lee’s first double title match. That went down in the opening segment of tonight’s show. The champ (champ) invited Dominik to the ring to acknowledge it was their series of matches that elevated Lee to where he is today. And because of that, he wanted give Dijakovic the first shot at both his titles. And he wanted to do it tonight.

The beginning of the match was slow. It felt like Dominik’s heart wasn’t fully in it and Keith Lee wasn’t showing the intensity of a double title match. But when they came back from commercial, that all had melted away and these dudes were delivering their big shots that they’re known for.

In the end, Keith put his frenemy away with the Big Bang Catastrophe.

It never reached the epic level as their original NXT bouts, but this was never meant to rival those. This was meant to allow Keith Lee to have an initial title defense against someone he has established chemistry with.

After the match, as the men were showing their mutual respect, the lights went out and Scarlett appeared. She carried a sack to the ring and emptied the remains of the hour glass that Keith Lee destroyed week’s back. As is the norm with everything Karrion Kross & Scarlett, it was dope.

Clearly the long term plan is Keith Lee vs. Karrion Kross. But that may be something they want to slow build. More immediate is Kross vs. Dijakovic, which was set up by a backstage brawl after the match.
