AEW Rankings (July 15, 2020): Brian Cage replaces MJF as the new #1

AEW released their latest rankings (July 15, 2020). Let’s check out the movers and shakers before Fight for the Fallen.

First, let’s do a quick recap of last week’s changes. AEW released those rankings under the radar, and I missed them. Big Swole moved up to #2 past Penelope Ford. The Dark Order regained the top spot after the Best Friends lost their title match. Private Party was bumped up to #3 and Jurassic Express replaced the Natural Nightmares.

Now, let’s analyze this week’s rankings.

Men:

AEW

How convenient! Brian Cage is the new #1 right before his title fight with Jon Moxley tonight. His win over Brain Pillman Jr. on Dark propelled him past MJF. MJF is going to be peeved. I wonder if Taz will campaign for Cage’s FTW title to be listed alongside Mox and Cody Rhodes. Chris Jericho got a boost past Mr. Brodie Lee after defeating Orange Cassidy.

Women:

No movement for the women this week.

Tag Team:

Jurassic Express flipped spots with Private Party. Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen lost to the champs at Fyter Fest, while Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus were victorious against the winless duo of Peter Avalon and Brandon Cutler.

Jurassic Express would be an interesting pair of challengers for Hangman Page & Kenny Omega as they wait for the next PPV, All Out on September 5. There will have to be a title bout before then and that matchup would make for exciting television.

It will be interesting to see how the result of tonight’s trios contest affects next week’s rankings, if at all. Jurassic Express is scheduled to compete against the Elite. As long as Marko Stunt doesn’t take the losing pin, would that mean the Bucks would move above Jurassic Express? If Jungle Boy or Dino-man pins Omega, does that earn them a title opportunity?

Do you agree with AEW’s rankings this week? If not, what would you change?
