Trios match, street fight join the title vs. title match for night two of the Great American Bash

Coming into tonight, next week’s second night of the Great American Bash only had one match: Adam Cole vs. Keith Lee - NXT title vs. North American title.

Really, that’s the big hook for the show. It was always going to be the major selling point. Tonight, they were tasked for rounding out the show with matches to help entice you more. They booked two more matches for next week to start doing that.

Spinning out of tonight’s #1 contender’s match, Candice LeRae will face Mia Yim in a Street Fight. LeRae was the first eliminated in tonights elimination match at the hands of Mia Yim. Later in the evening, Candice claimed everyone was teaming up with her and it wasn’t fair. You know, typical heel excuses. When she saw Yim backstage, she attacked her and a fight ensued, setting up this match.

Also this week, Santos Escobar’s crew was interrupted by a returning Drake Maverick, who ran head first into a three on one attack. Luckily, Tyler Breeze and Fandango (now supporting a mustache, which is information I feel you need to know) made the save, setting up a trios match between Drake and Breezango against El Legado del Fantasma.

The only other thing advertised is “Mercedes Martinez in action,” which sounds like match against some enhancement talent.

That’s still a pretty light show so they’ll have to add some more matches. Isaiah “Swerve” Scott and Johnny Gargano got in each other’s faces during Mia and Candice’s brawl so that could be a match. And Damian Priest called out Cameron Grimes for a rematch.

Both those matches would be good, but neither would add much more hype. If they want to do that, they should follow up tonight’s main event and book the Golden Role Models of Sasha Banks and Bayley against Io Shirai and Asuka.

How are you feeling about next week’s card?
