Night one of AEW’s Fyter Fest kicked off tonight (July 1) with a tag team match pitting Jungle Boy & Luchasaurus against MJF & Wardlow.
Before the match, MJF said the only reason this match was even happening is because AEW is in a ratings war, and MJF is the man who drives ratings.
Special commentator Chris Jericho then contrasted the concept of limited commercials with the unlimited talent on the AEW roster.
MJF is undefeated in singles competition in AEW, but this was not a singles match, so a loss for MJF was definitely on the table. And with Jungle Boy flying around the ring like a madman, he tried his best to make that happen:

Things broke down for the heels when MJF tried to cheat with his Dynamite diamond ring. Wardlow held Luchasaurus for MJF to blast with the ring, but the dinosaur escaped his grip. MJF scolded Wardlow, telling him he can’t do anything right. MJF was then shoved forward and his ring hit Wardlow in the face. MJF was discarded from the ring, and then Jurassic Express put Wardlow away for the win.
The good guys go over, but the bigger story here is that MJF’s big mouth could be breaking his relationship with Wardlow.
