AEW DYNAMITE RESULTS AND LIVE BLOG FOR JUNE 24
Once I built a railroad, I made it run, made it race against time. Once I built a railroad, but now it’s done. Brother, can you spare a dime? And time might run in straight lines, but me? I’m just here to liveblog this pro wrestling show, folks.
The show opens with the intro video.
Maxwell Jacob Friedman and Wardlow make their entrance.
Luchasaurus vs. Wardlow (Lumberjack Match)
Both men right in with strikes, Wardlow pulls ahead with punches but Luchasaurus hits a back elbow into a series of kicks that put Mr. Mayhem in the ropes. Wardlow explodes out with a lariat and Luchasaurus rolls to the floor. Back inside, shoulder blocks in the corner, whip reversed, Wardlow up and over, shoulder thrust in the corner.
Uppercut, dump the dinosaur, the lumberjacks try to beat on him but he fends them off. Up on the apron, Mr. Mayhem suplexes him back inside! Trading shots again, Wardlow gets an overhead belly-to-belly suplex into mounted punches. Tearing at the mask, referee Rick Knox warns him off, and Luchasaurus recovers with chops into the corner.
Whip reversed, big lariat, rolling solebutt, front kick, roundhouse kick into a legsweep, knee strike and a moonsault... NOPE! Goozle, Wardlow pries his hands off and the dino responds with a huge overhand chop! Into the corner, over to the apron, big headbutt, goozle, Luchasaurus climbing the turnbuckles! Mr. Mayhem climbs up after him, jockeying for position... SUPERPLEX FOR TWO!
Trading shots again, Wardlow snaps off a Frankensteiner! Off the ropes, Luchasaurus snaps off a standing Spanish Fly! Fighting onto the stage, Mr. Mayhem with a powerslam! Lumberjacks swarm and Marko Stunt breaks it up with a tope con giro to save his dino friend! Trading strikes on the stage, Brandon Cutler gets involved for some reason and Wardlow throws him off the stage!
Throwing Luchasaurus into a barricade, Stunt comes up... WARDLOW PRESS DROPS HIM INTO THE CROWD OF LUMBERJACKS! LUCHASAURUS CRESCENT KICKS MR. MAYHEM OFF THE STAGE AND INTO THE PILE! SHOOTING STAR PRESS FROM THE BIG MAN! Back in the ring, crescent kick sets up a roundhouse, Luchasaurus hits the chokeslam but MJF is on the apron to distract Knox!
Jungle Boy takes Max out, Wardlow with a low blow, fireman’s carry...
Wardlow wins by pinfall with the F-10.
Post-match, Jurassic Express come to Luchasaurus’ side, MJF and Wardlow attack, and the lumberjacks join in to give us a pier six brawl!
Taz breaks down Brian Cage’s moveset with a focus on the Drill Claw to send us to break.
Back from commercial, Hikaru Shida gets into it with Penelope Ford at ringside before her match.
Hikaru Shida vs. Red Velvet
Shida just destroys her with a high knee...
Hikaru Shida wins by pinfall with the Falcon Arrow.
Post-match, Shida immediately goes after Penelope Ford again! They brawl at some length, finally get pulled apart, and Kip Sabian is pissed off that his sunglasses got broken in the process.
We get a press conference for the TNT Championship match between Cody Rhodes and Jake Hager, wherein Jake’s crew is absent and Arn Anderson gives him a dadly talking to at length, essentially calling him a coward and telling him Cody’s gonna retain. Rhodes talks about being champion, how it feels like hope, and how he stands for real, classic style pro wrestling.
Hager comes to the conference at last, accompanied by his wife. He asks Cody if he’s ready, and he’s ready. This sets up the photo op with the belt, they pose, Jake puts his fist in Rhodes’ face and he swats it away. He walks away, his wife throws water in Cody’s face, and we’re done here.
So we go to break.
Back from commercial, we get the video package of Sonny Kiss and Joey Janela fighting dudes off at a gas station.
Mr. Brodie Lee & Colt “Boom Boom” Cabana vs. Joey Janela & Sonny Kiss
Lee and Kiss to start, Sonny backflips out of a powerbomb clutch, duck a lariat, tijeras into the corner! Handspring cartwheel slap in the corner and Brodie lays her out! Right hand, whip across, duck the lariat again, la casadora but Lee throws Kiss off! Tag to Janela, tag to Cabana. Off the ropes, leapfrog, drop down, back elbow, tag made, Hart Attack into a boston crab / leg drop, Sonny with the Last Chancery but Brodie intervenes and cuts off the double team!
Cheap shot from the Beaver Boys on the floor, Colt with a right hand, falling splash, only two! Smashing Sonny’s face into the turnbuckles, we go to break.
Back from commercial, Cabana whips Kiss into the corner but she ducks the Flying Asshole! Right hand, tag to Janela, up top, diving crossbody into double birds to Lee! Jawbreaker, off the ropes, Colt catches him with a Bionic Elbow only to eat a Death Valley Driver moments later! JOEY JANELA AND SONNY KISS BOTH WITH ORIHARA MOONSAULTS!
Joey charging in, elbow connects, hanging Colt up in the ropes for Sonny to hit a handspring leg drop! Both of them up top, diving splash from Joey, 450 splash from Kiss... BRODIE BREAKS IT UP! Back body drop to the floor, Sonny with a fakeout to the apron into a slingshot dropkick! Back elbow tags Cabana, Janela with the electric chair, Doomsday Device, Colt counters into a victory roll... NOPE!
Kiss kicks Lee off the apron, peppering Cabana with shots but the Beaver Boys pull him out of the ring... SONNY TAKES THEM OUT WITH A PLANCHA! BRODIE LEE WITH THE BIG BOOT! JANELA DIVES ON HIM BUT LEE SIDESTEPS HIM INTO THE BARRICADE! Back inside, discus lariat, Lee stands aside...
Mr. Brodie Lee & Colt Cabana win by pinfall with a lateral press from Cabana on Joey Janela.
Post-match, Lance Archer comes to ringside and takes Janela out with a cheap shot before beating Kiss down! Joey has a chair as an equalizer but Lance swats it aside and lays him out with a kick! Jake “the Snake” Roberts intervenes, backing his man off.
An update on Shawn Spears sends us to break.
FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood) vs. SCU (Christopher Daniels & Frankie Kazarian)
FTR overwhelming Kazarian out the gates, working his arm over, but soon enough Daniels gets the tag and turns things around, working Wheeler over briefly. A shoving match breaks out, the match breaks down, they brawl and spill to the floor, and we go to break.
Back from commercial, Kazarian slams Wheeler around a few times but Cash gets away from him. Tag to Daniels, Wheeler with a tijeras and the tag, Harwood comes in with right hands, snap suplexes for everybody! Slingshot suplex on the Fallen Angel... NOPE! Looking for a piledriver, denied, sunset flip blocked, Cash runs in, O’Connor roll for two!
Inside cradle, referee Paul Turner is busy, Wheeler slips in to reverse it, Turner counts... STILL NO! Daniels with an STO, tags made, windmill punches give way to trading chops, knees from Frankie into a lariat, both guys are down! Looking for a suplex, Cash floats over, duck a lariat, Kaz with a lungblower into a kick from Daniels, the Unprettier... NOT ENOUGH!
Back suplex into a Codebreaker, Wheeler counters, catapult Chris into the corner, tag made, Veg-O-Matic... NO! Suplex lift sets Daniels up top, countered, SCU with a double whip, powerbomb / neckbreaker but Dax kicks out! Angel’s Wings... WHEELER MAKES THE SAVE! Off the ropes, Cash with a high angle scoop slam, running knee, only a nearfall!

Post-match, FTR cut a promo about how there’s good guys and bad guys in this world, and they might not have the athletic background you like, but they are the absolute baddest. Talking straight to Jungle Boy and his dumbass dinosaur, to Santana and Ortiz, to Page and Omega, to Nick and Matt... congratulations, you graduated from the kiddie table, and now you’re eating with the big boys.
When it comes to FTR, you bit off more than you can chew, because they talk heavy, they hit hard, and they are the absolute best tag team in the world.
Enter Butcher and the Blade, having commandeered FTR’s truck. They’ve been looking for a new meat wagon, and this fits the bill. Blade gets a baseball bat and warns FTR that if they take another step closer, they’ll destory the truck.
Lucha Brothers appear behind them, and Butcher and the Blade and Lucha Brothers are challenging FTR and the Young Bucks to an atomicos at Fyter Fest! It’s on! Lucha Brothers and FTR start brawling! Hooking Wheeler... STOMP-ASSISTED PACKAGE PILEDRIVER! THE BUCKS MAKE THE SAVE!
We get a Jim Ross-lead video package hyping up Best Friends vs. Omega and Page to send us to break.
Back from commercial, we get a video package for Brian Cage vs. Jon Moxley at Fyter Fest.
Brian Cage vs. Jon Cruz
Cruz gives a valiant effort but Cage literally bicep curls him on the way to his squash victory tonight.
Brian Cage wins by pinfall with the Drill Claw.
Post-match, Taz calls Jon Moxley out, asking where he is before accusing him of sitting on his ass on the couch. Taz cuts a promo where he paints Cage as a workhorse and Mox as a lazy jerk who’s gonna lose his title, and sends us to break.
Back from commercial, Brodie Lee and Colt Cabana are chatting backstage.
Lee talks about how winning feels good and how Colt showed the world on Dynamite by getting his hand raised. He wants one more opportunity to show Cabana what he means when they take SCU on at Fyter Fest. He tells SCU they’re in his sight while Boom Boom looks on mildly perplexed.
Commentary breaks down what’s gonna be on which night of Fyter Fest.
Dr. Britt Baker, DMD is chilling in her Cole Mine when “Big Swole” Aerial Monroe rolls up to talk to her, but she can’t hear, since the glass is soundproof. They bicker, Monroe leaves and comes back, climbing atop the cart and dumping a garbage can out on Britt in her cone of silence!
“Broken” Matt Hardy vs. Santana
Santana backs Hardy into the corner, collar and elbow, the Inner Circle man lighting Matt up with strikes. Back body drop puts him over the ropes and to the floor, Hardy grinds his head into the ringpost and hits a headbutt to follow it up! Whip into the barricade, Ortiz keeping his distance as Broken Matt bites Santana’s fingers!
Throwing him inside, Ortiz runs interference and Santana is able to cut him off with a dropkick! With the Inner Circle man in control, we go to break.
Back from commercial, Santana charging in, back body drop to the apron, slingshot back inside, Hardy ducks the enzuigiri. Waistlock, German suplex blocked, Side Effect floated over... SANTANA HITS A SIDE EFFECT OF HIS OWN! Quebrada connects... NOPE! Hardy backed into the corner on wobbly knees, whip across, boot up, putting Santana into the corner and trading shots with him.
Climb up, jockeying for position, Santana goes for a frog splash... NOBODY HOME! Matt feeling himself, trading right hands, overwhelming him, whip across, back elbow connects. Off the ropes, a lariat lays the Inner Circle man out, cover... only two! Smashing his face into the turnbuckles over and over, corner lariat but the bulldog is blocked.
Side Effect connects... NOT EVEN TWO! He hits a second Side Effect... STILL NO! A third Side Effect... SANTANA FINDS THE WILL TO KICK OUT! Knee up, Santana dives into a front kick, Hardy turns him around, inverted DDT but Ortiz hits the ring to interfere with the count! Hardy looking to follow it up, Santana with a fireman’s carry Michinoku Driver... NO! Hardy reverses...
Matt Hardy wins by pinfall with a victory roll pin.
Post-match, Ortiz hits the ring and beats Hardy down! He gets Santana up... STREET SWEEPER! PRIVATE PARTY MAKE THE SAVE!
And so we go to break.
Back from commercial, Orange Cassidy makes his entrance and we see a recap of his attack on Chris Jericho from last week.
Jericho follows soon after, and gets on the mic. He repeatedly asks why the chicken crossed the road, and answers his own question with “to get to the other side.” He says it’s a joke everybody knows, and the first time you hear it it’s kinda funny and a little stupid, but the more you hear it, the worse it gets, and that’s Orange Cassidy.
The more he sees him and his act, the more annoying he becomes, and he pisses Jericho off. When he first heard his name, he thought it was stupid, when he first saw his matches, he thought he was an embarrassment to the business, and when he signed with AEW, he called Tony Khan and asked why he’d bring Cassidy in.
He said the same thing everybody else says— everybody loves him. Y2J watched more of his stuff and he kinda got it, he does his own thing, he’s different, and Jericho applauds him for that. He got over on his own, for being himself! Part of his appeal is he’s like us— a lazy slacker. If he tries any of his bullshit offense at Fyter Fest, Chris is gonna kick his teeth down his throat.
He better reach deep down in his pockets and pull out a man-sized miracle if he wants to beat Le Champion, but that’s not happening. At Fyter Fest, the Orange Cassidy phenomenon is over, because Jericho’s gonna make sure he runs out of juice.
Orange takes the mic, considers saying something, and just sets it down before kicking Y2J in the shings with his “bullshit offense”! Hands up... HANDS IN POCKETS! Jericho takes his glasses off and crushes them! ORANGE WITH THE DOUBLE LEG INTO GROUNDED PUNCHES! WE GOT A BRAWL! JERICHO BAILS TO THE FLOOR BUT CASSIDY STAYS ON HIM!
They fight past the barricades, into the crowd area, Cassidy smashes Jericho’s face into an inner barricade and they fight up the stands! Chris smashes Orange into some chairs, dragging him deeper up the stands, Cassidy fights back and knocks him into a row of seats! Trading blows, deeper into the stands... Y2J SWINGS A CAMERA BOOM INTO CASSIDY!
Drawing him up, climbing up a road case, pulling Orange up with him but he floats over a slam and smashes Jericho’s face into the railing! Cassidy bleeding from his right ear, he climbs a row of steps and runs down them... SUPERMAN PUNCH PUTS JERICHO THROUGH A TABLE!
Orange stands tall on the road case and surveys his handiwork before giving us the thumbs up.
