AEW DYNAMITE RESULTS AND LIVE BLOG FOR JUNE 10

Howl like a wolf and a witch will open the door. Follow me and meet our High Priestess. Come, come into my coven, and I’ll liveblog this here pro wrestling show for you, folks.

The show opens with a recap of last week’s Cage / Moxley stuff.

And thence to the intro video.

Commentary hypes up tonight’s show for us before being joined by Chris Jericho and Floyd.

Butcher and the Blade (Andy Williams & Pepper Parks) vs. FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood)

Parks and Harwood to start, collar and elbow breaks down into a shoving match. Back to the lockup, Pepper smothers him in the corner but manages to break clean. Back to the lockup, back in the corner again, and referee Paul Turn has to forcibly separate them this time. Dax with a headlock takeover, Parks back to his feet, trading chops!

Headlock, shot off, shoulder block, drop down, slide low, go-behind, O’Connor roll for two! Small package, Harwood looking to end it early before going back to the headlock takeover! Arm wringer and a tag, Wheeler comes in with double knees to the arm, shoulder armbreaker, and quick tags continue the arm work.

Parks gets away, tag to Williams, Cash legal. Trying to clear the apron, Andy gets caught but fights an armbar off. Wheeler with a forearm, an uppercut, off the ropes with a shoulder block, a forearm, leapfrog, dropkick, Williams is staggered but Cash lands hard on his shoulder and comes up clutching it in pain. It’s a ruse, schoolboy pin for two, Andy drops him with a freight train crossbody!

Working Cash over in the corner while Jim Ross gets Andy’s spot in Every Time I Die wrong (Chris Jericho was right, y’all, the man plays guitar. Listen to Low Teens! Anyway...), quick tags, but soon enough he gets away and tags Dax in! Lighting Parks up with punches, running neckbreaker, dragon screw for Williams, snap off a brainbuster on Pepper!

The match breaks down, double-team hanging DDT on Andy, Pepper up in the corner... SUPERPLEX INTO A DIVING SPLASH GETS A TIGHT TWO! Parks lights him up, assisted STO... NOPE! Looking for another double team, denied, FTR snap Shatter Machine off! (And we’re informed it’s now called Goodnight Express) Setting him up...

FTR win by pinfall with a spike piledriver on Pepper Parks.

Post-match, FTR are interviewed and say this is the pinnacle of tag team wrestling.

The Young Bucks come to the ring and say they don’t want to be rude, they just want to congratulate them. And also they want to thank them for helping them out of a jam a few weeks ago, and they don’t want to be rude about it but they failed to properly introduce themselves, so why not do that now? They’re Matt and Nick, and they’ve been carrying tag wrestling on their backs for the last decade and a half.

They’re the best tag team in AEW, they’re the Young Bucks, and it’s nice to meet you. They extend hands... AND ANDY WILLIAMS BLASTS THEM FROM BEHIND! FTR ATTACK THE BUTCHER! KIP SABIAN AND JIMMY HAVOC JOIN THE FRAY! HANGMAN PAGE AND KENNY OMEGA ARE HERE! The Elite bys and FTR run off the heels, and FTR get in the tag champions’ faces.

And so we go to break.

The Natural Nightmares are interviewed backstage.

Brandi Rhodes complains about Allie being given a team jacket and Dustin Rhodes tells QT Marshall that she’s not gonna be at ringside for their tag title match next week, because he needs QT’s head in the game.

Hikaru Shida & Kris Statlander vs. Nyla Rose & Penelope Ford

Chaos early on, the match starting off a brawl with the heels in charge. Statlander turns out legal and throws Rose into Ford to get rid of her. Clubbing the Native Beast, off the ropes, dropkick, cover for two. Smashing her face into the turnbuckles, tag to Shida, quick tags to keep the former champ off balance.

Kris with a splash attempt, nobody home and Nyla turns her inside out with a lariat! Cover for two, scraping her boots across Statlander’s face and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Rose in control but Statlander fights to her feet. Double pumphandle, Kris lands on her feet, kick connects, discus lariat knocks Nyla down! Ford tags in, Shida legal two, champ hangs her up in the turnbuckles for a running knee! To the apron, getting a nice head of steam, running knee! Back inside, missile dropkick, straight suplex, tag to Statlander.

Double-team backbreaker, running knee to the back of the head, Kris with a standing moonsault, Penelope fires back with a straight suplex of her own and tags Rose after. Fireman’s carry, elbows to break, Statlander with a roundhouse kick! Matrix evasion from Ford, Stunner connects, Shida knees her face off and cuts Nyla off in the turnbuckles!

Superplex connects, Statlander capitalizes with an axe kick... NOPE! Tag to Hikaru, clubbing blows, jockeying for position over a suplex, Shida gets hung over the ropes, Kris comes in, she gets hung over the top rope, Rose pops up... DOUBLE GUILLOTINE KNEE DROP ACROSS THE BACK OF THEIR NECKS! Looking for the Beast Bomb, Ford goes for a springboard assist but Ford pulls her off the apron!

Shida with a running knee, suplex lift on Penelope, distraction from Sabian, Nyla throws Ford the belt, she hits Hikaru with it...

Nyla Rose & Penelope Ford win by pinfall with a bridging fisherman suplex from Ford on Hikaru Shida.

We get a video package of Darby Allin skateboarding with Tony Hawk recently, which is pretty cool.

A video package update on Dr. Britt Baker, DMD follows, part recap, part training montage, part call for respect.

That sends us to break.

Back from commercial, we get a hype reel for AEW’s action figure line.

Best Friends (Chuck Taylor & Trent?) & Orange Cassidy vs. Inner Circle (Jake Hager, Ortiz, & Santana)

The Inner Circle lay everybody out, Hager throwing Cassidy around the stage, and the action cools down with Trent isolated and being worked over. Beretta gets some breathing room with a Saito suplex, looking for a tag and he gets it! Taylor in with the Sole Food into a suplex, Trent off the ropes with a dive that staggers Jake, Chuck with the tope con giro to wipe Proud-N-Powerful out!

Spear to Ortiz, back inside, Hager works Taylor over, and now it’s his turn to play Ricky Morton. Vader Bomb, and we go to break with Chuck in isolation.

Back from commercial, chaos in the ring, Cassidy is open and he gets the tag! Coming in on Hager, shin kicks, Jake picks him up before he can put his hands in his pockets and puts him in the corner! Orange with the evasion, dumping him to the floor, hands in his pockets, double Frankensteiner on Ortiz and Santana and a tope takes Hager out!

Diving crossbody on Ortiz, off the ropes, satellite DDT takes Santana out! Dive is caught by Jake, high-angle twisting spinebuster, Trent comes in, Hager clotheslines him out of the ring after some back and forth! PNP Poetry in Motion, powerbomb lift... Chuck knocks Santana over before they can hit Street Sweeper!

Cassidy rolls him up...

Best Friends & Orange Cassidy win by pinfall with an arm-trap cradle from Cassidy on Ortiz.

Post-match, Jericho and Floyd hit the ring and he hits Trent in the gut and Orange in the face with the bat! Chris gets a sack of oranges, we see that Floyd has busted Cassidy open, Jericho winds up with the sack... AND NAILS ORANGE IN THE HEAD WITH THE SACK OF ORANGES! Jericho gets on the mic and says that Orange Cassidy has just been juiced.

The Inner Circle squeeze oranges out on him, and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Billy Gunn is interviewed.

Maxwell Jacob Friedman rolls up and takes over, saying he’s been undefeated for over a year and he’s been #1 for three consecutive weeks but Jungle Boy got a title shot first? The favoritism in this company is egregious, and all he gets is dirty looks from the locker room because the boys know that eventually you hit a ceiling, and he’s the ceiling.

He’s a great white shark in a sea of minnows—

Billy Gunn cuts him off and says he’s looking at a great white, and MJF says he’s surprised he’s not trying to get another one of his scumbag sons a job. Gunn grabs him by the lapels, Wardlow intervenes, and we cut away.

A recap of Colt Cabana being offered a spot in the Dark Order follows.

Colt “Boom Boom” Cabana vs. Sammy Guevara

Guevara flipping Cabana the bird right in his face, Colt returns the favor, double birds from Sammy, side headlock from Boom Boom. Shot off, drop down, leapfrog, double bird into chops! Crawl under, double chop, off the ropes, tilt-a-whirl headscissors and then an arm drag into an armbar! Arm wringer, working the fingers, Guevara gets the ropes and forces the break.

He knocks Colt to the floor and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Cabana off the ropes, fireman’s carry from Guevara, doing squats, Colt slips out, Bionic Elbow! Charging in, boots up, Sammy up to the second, hopping down, upkicks from Cabana! Flip, Flop, & Fly, Flying Asshole, Colt pops up to the second and flexes, double jump into a big splash for two!

Cabana catches a springboard into a slam, moonsault off the top... NOPE! Jockeying for position, Sammy underheath him... FEAST YOUR EYES! IT’S OVER!

Sammy Guevara wins by pinfall with a Feast Your Eyes.

Post-match, Evil Uno and Stu Grayson come to ringside. They’re soon joined by Brodie Lee, who helps Colt to his feet. The Dark Order then proceed to leave.

Sammy Guevara gets on the mic and gets cut off almost immediately by Matt Hardy.

Sammy asks what his issue is and Matt says he doesn’t have any issues, he actually respects him, because he sees a young version of himself, a man with a Stronger Than Death mindset. No matter how hard he gets hit, he gets back up, and the reality is he’s the future of AEW. Matt offers some advice— he has to get away from Chris Jericho to reach his maximum potential.

Guevara complains that Hardy tried to kill him twice, that’s a fact. That brings out the Matt Facts version of Hardy, and Sammy runs him down as stupid and Broken. Of course, Broken Matt then appears. He says he’s going to mash Guevara into mofongo and eat him. DELETE! DELETE! DELETE!

We get a Joey Janela vignette about how he came here to be a star but has kind of faded out of sight after wrestling Jon Moxley in the main event. He runs into Sonny Kiss, who gives him a ride in her convertible as we fade out on a “to be continued”

And so we go to break.

Back from commercial, Colt Cabana is interviewed backstage.

He ducks the interview and knocks on a door with a Dark Order sign posted on it. The door opens, he goes in, and we get a closer look and see that the sign reads Mr. Brodie Lee.

We’re informed that next week’s show will have Maxwell Jacob Friedman vs. Billy Gunn, so that’s fun.

Jon Moxley is shown walking into the building and runs into an interview.

He’s gonna be honest, he’s in a bad mood and he hurts all over, and he has little to no patience or time for people who run their mouths when they don’t know what they’re talking about.

Like Taz, who has been telling everybody that Brian Cage is gonna beat him at Fyter Fest, and now he’s gonna pop Cage’s head like a giant pimple and shut Taz up for good. What separates him from the pack is that he’s one miserable son of a bitch and the mere idea that anybody thinks they can beat him pisses him off.

It’s what drives him and makes him train harder, hit harder, more violent and less apologetic. With due respect, Taz is one of the great trash talkers of all time, and—

Taz rolls up shouting about Mox’s chirping and tells him to get himself and his head right because he’s getting put out at Fyter Fest— BRIAN CAGE ATTACKS FROM BEHIND! Beating Mox down, he throws him into a parking lot guardrail before ramming him into somebody’s car! Mox fights back, lead pipe through a window, but Brian recovers and spinebusters him on the hood!

He sets him up on the concrete but Taz tells him to back down. Cage gives up the powerbomb clutch and instead throws Moxley into the rear window of the car!

Cody Rhodes gets a pretaped promo where he talks about his first defense of the TNT Championship.

Private Party make their entrance, accompanied by Matt Hardy, and we go to break.

Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Marq Quen (AEW TNT Championship)

Handshake, into some light grappling in the feeling out, Quen with a side headlock, shot off, shoulder block, standing moonsault, only a one count. Scoop lift, Rhodes slips out, drop down slap, going for Beautiful Disaster but Marq nails him with a dropkick on the button to counter! Cody with a leg pick, slamming his leg into the mat, cover for one.

Rhodes with a Romero Special, falling back, choosing to go into a Dragon sleeper instead of going to full extension, and we go to break.

Back from commercial, we see that Quen’s knee gave out on him during the commercial break and referee Aubrey Edwards is checking on him. He’s game to continue and hits an enzuigiri when Rhodes returns to the ring. Beating him down in the corner, Edwards forcibly removes him and Cody kicks him in the gut and follows it up with a shinbreaker.

Setting him up top, jockeying for position, a superplex leaves both men down and out! Quen with a whip, Rhodes slides low, Marq leg pick into a standing shooting star press... NOPE! Suplex lift, Marq counters it into a WILD corkscrew DDT... STILL NO! Cody to the floor, Quen off the ropes, suicide dive lands true!

Back in, limping off the ropes, tope con giro wipes the champion out but the pain is etched into Marq Quen’s face! Back inside, looking for the trifecta but his knee won’t go! Sending Cody back to the floor, off the ropes... CORKSCREW TOPE! Back inside, Quen heading up top, knee clearly screaming agony, Rhodes rolls to the stage, Marq adjusts... 450 SPLASH ONTO THE STAGE!

Back inside, up top, shooting star press... CODY DODGES AND GRABS AN ANKLE LOCK! FALLING BACK, LEG GRAPEVINED, SHIFTING TO A CALF SLICER... IT’S OVER!

Cody Rhodes wins by submission with a calf slicer to retain the AEW TNT Championship.

Post-match, Cody helps Quen up, embraces him, and shakes his hand in a show of mutual respect.

Jake Hager attacks! High-angle swinging spinebuster connects and he stands tall! Private Party and Matt Hardy make the save with chairs in hand! They stagger Hager and Hardy clotheslines him to the floor! Ortiz, Santana, and Sammy Guevara even the odds and we got a brawl! Referees hit the ring to try and break it up but the fight rolls on!

A Twist of Fate takes Guevara out and the Inner Circle regroup on the stage.

Cody gets on the mic and gives Hager the TNT Championship match at Fyter Fest!

That’s the show, folks.
